Pros

i didn't see any pros. At the end of day one, i wanted to quit. The HR person is an old witch. No compassion, not kindness. I am glad i never quite my previous job

Cons

I did not like anything. People are dry and not heart-based. Technology sucks. No one cares about each other but they promote amazing culture

Pros

This has been a tough year for me and my family and it great to know how supportive the management and owner of the company has been. Great benefits, great team of people to work with and a great mission to support their employees and their customers

Cons

Better information about all the programs they have available for their employees

Pros

I've worked at Planet for seven years and have seen it all - both as an engineer for a number of years and, later, a manager. Executing over hundreds of projects, I can tell you that the engineers at Planet Technologies are unmatched. No one is perfect, but these men and women are technically excellent and very willing to help their peers. Given the talent and successes at Planet, the company is a top awarded Microsoft partner - including Worldwide Government Partner of the Year in State and Local Government. I've worked in a number of companies in my 20-year technology career, and I've been most impressed by the executive leadership at Planet. The company has grown significantly since my start and, with growth, comes uncertainty and growing pains. Leadership has remained consistent and new programs, policies + procedures, and initiatives have been tried with the best intentions for positive employee and corporate outcomes. I've seen people in different positions at Planet fail and I've seen programs fail; but, with grace, we learn from those failures and work to improve moving forward. As a hiring manager, I've often had the support of leadership to support junior employees in cases of failure - often leading to encouraged growth on the part of the employee, yielding a success story for the team as a whole. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Big #33, which is a program of guiding values Planet Technologies has instituted; a few to mention: "Make Quality Personal" and "Treat Everyone with Dignity and Respect"

Cons

The biggest drawback to working at Planet is the fact that we've been a bit of a product of our own success - when you're seeing years with 25, 35 or 40% growth you have to be able to manage to those changes effectively. It's a very fast-paced environment and management to engineer overhead is low (we're a bottom-heavy organization). As such, managers at Planet empower their engineers and project managers moreso than numerous organizations I've worked in. If you tend to naturally lead and can work without a lot of manager guidance, it works great. In other cases, it ends up being a bit of a mismatch with employees, frustrated that their priorities are not necessarily in alignment with management priorities. Lastly, our benefits are not as good at other tech companies, but are getting better over time.
