When I first started, Plexus was great. I loved my coworkers and the work was okay. We would often go out for happy hour and we became a tight knit group of people. It progressively got worse and worse. Always being told what to do and exactly how to do it makes you feel like a meaningless robot. I had plenty of great ideas and solutions but they were NEVER listened to. And my job was specifically supposed to offer ideas and solutions. Don’t listen to the Plexus communications employee response when they say there is a roadmap. There ISN’T. Not in the sense a roadmap should be developed. My job was supposed to develop and own the roadmap, and I can tell you we’ve never had one that was actually used. We tried, but execs always had the final say and we had to hide things on this pretend roadmap because they didn’t want to see it. Everything is made up at the last minute with no thought or reason as to why you are doing the work. Unrealistic Deadline are EXPECTED, and you have to do whatever you can to just get it done. The deadlines are non negotiable because execs communicate an exact date to the field, so your hands are tied. You will work your tail off to get the work done and NEVER get noticed or appreciated. NEVER. Then COVID hit and they told everyone we were expected to be in the office. Most of us didn’t listen and decided to work from home. It was only after the majority of the company decided to be remote that they “allowed” us to work from home. 2021 summer they mandated everyone to return. There was an attendance taker at the door and if you didn’t show up they would call your boss and ask where you were. People are in the office SICK, and they will NOT let you go home. I was personally exposed by a coworker and was never notified. When we were forced back into the office they said they were figuring out a WFH policy, but they had an entire year to figure that out. They developed a pathetic policy and said we needed to be trained on working from home, after we had all already been doing it for over a year.
Yes, there has been an enormous amount of turnover over the last few months, and for valid reasons. They don’t value you as a person. You are a monkey to them, just getting Pointless work done that has no value to humanity. Just helping rich people get more rich. Management and execs don’t listen to the expertise of their tenured employees, but instead they only listen to a handful of the highest level ambassadors that know nothing of the data, architecture or infrastructure, just how to make themselves more money. Us tenured experts finally had enough of the abuse and mistreatment, hence all the turnover. And management does nothing to stop it because they only want people who will do what they say, not ask questions, not offer input or feedback, not think for yourself. All the experts who have recently left have been replaced with contractors.
I’m not just a disgruntled employee leaving a bad review, I was a loyal and dedicated employee that went above and beyond to make execs happy. I took extreme pride in my work. But it was all unnoticed, and I could only take so much of the mistreatment. I decided on my own to leave because I was not HEALTHY or HAPPY there. Plexus is NOT the health and happiness company.
