Toxic Culture - STAY AWAY

Business Outlook

Pros

$100 Product Allotment/Month, VTO, Weekly Raffle

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism at this company, especially if you are part of a devout group that is heavily based out of Gilbert. There is little room for growth unless you are part of the aforementioned group or drink the kool aid. Good employees have been let go or laid off to make room for unqualified friends of the current executive group. There were recently a lot of lay offs at the company (and they are still going on). The company has been laying off a few people every week or so in hopes that no one notices, and doesn't acknowledge that its conducting layoffs. Good employees and long-term employees have been laid off with no justification. The company is VERY top heavy with directors, and those who are below the director level are most likely to get laid off, leaving more work for less people and no additional support. HR is very toxic and does not care about the employees. The maternity leave is sub-par and reflects the sexist culture.

Not so great

Pros

Quarterly profit sharing, $100 allowance per month for products

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism at this company. Several executives have brought in their cronies from companies they used to work for so they aren't interviewed, just given jobs, often positions they are not qualified for. If you are not part of the "in" crowd, you are generally looked down upon. There is little room for growth unless you are one of the favorites. They think they have this great culture however, it's just lip service. The company is very top heavy with managers and directors. Directors and above get lots of benefits and at some point this cannot be sustainable with all that money going out into their pockets. For example, directors get hundreds of dollars EACH month to lease a Lexus. There are a lot of great employees there however, so many are worked to death due to lack of long-term (or even short-term) planning, which creates so much emergency, reactionary work. This company, like many direct sales companies, are very secretive. Employees, especially those who are on the front lines, often don't know what is being sold until the last minute and then do not receive adequate training. Employees are talked down to, bullied, and treated disrespectfully yet they cannot complain because HR doesn't listen and is just as bad. People don't want to go to HR because they know they are talked about behind their backs and their issues are not taken seriously. Managers can bully their employees with little to no repercussions. It always comes down to the employee being seen as disgruntled instead of a manager having a problem. The executive suite is oblivious to all the issues and don't care as long as the money keeps coming in. There is no sense of what the future plans are, nobody knows.

Pros

Company is growing and seems to be financially stable.

Cons

This company has old school leadership and is forcing folks back into the office from work from home which has caused a lot of turnover for tenured people over the last few weeks. It is a my way or the highway mentality with them. Middle management is a meat grinder and there seems to be a lot of turnover. It seems like no one really owns their work and processes and procedures are very messy and no one really seems to care. This could just be because leadership doesn't seem to stick around long enough to get anything solid in place. They have a weird business model that relies more on appeasing the Ambassadors than selling good or large volume of product. They make their money off generating buzz and creating artificial scarcity of product which can be a weird way to work if you are used to more traditional business models. HR is very inconsistent and tough to work with. They were some of the most unprofessional HR folks I've dealt with in my career. In summary, this is an odd meat grinder of a company and I would steer clear if you are looking at the marketing or IT side.
