Pros

- Unlimited PTO - Insurance / benefits

Cons

At one point in time, Pluralsight had a very strong Product culture that encouraged growth, strong collaboration, and positioned those involved towards new opportunities. They invested in the various disciplines (Product Management, Product Design, Data, and Engineering) and worked to ensure that each of these roles had support from peers and (just as importantly) discipline leadership / support. But that time is over. And what that has also removed is a path for continued growth in the Design space. Pluralsight has made decision after decision to remove all support from disciplines outside of Engineering, thus tanking the Product culture at Pluralsight. There is no centralized or supportive Design leadership at Pluralsight anymore. There does not appear to be any interest in creating any either. Instead, all Designers report to a generalized manager who has little to no actual experience or expertise to the discipline. Growth for individual contributors has been neglected in favor of driving the highest profits. Senior talent has all but left in a great exodus in search of a place who actually values their craft and supports the continued growth of those they employ. Pluralsight has also struggled with nepotism where people have been put into positions without any of the previous experience or qualifications, but because they're close to an "insiders" group. We've even heard of some people moving into high level leadership without any actual interviews to be put into the role they're taking over because "their entire time at Pluralsight has been one long interview for this role". That just isn't right. That's not an equitable or fair hiring practice, particularly when the person who took over this role had never worked with an organization like this before. It's painfully obvious to see the inner workings of nepotism in this organization – and it's largely a men's group in the upper levels of senior leadership in the Product spaces. Diversity and inclusion has continued to be an issue here as well, as you may have guessed with the above.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. Our Product org has undergone a lot of changes the past year, and with that come many opportunities for the business to learn and grow. I agree with you that everyone at Pluralsight matters and are worthy of growth and support, and I’m sad to hear that you didn’t experience that support during your time here. In regards to our hiring practices, we are committed to ensuring that the most qualified candidates are chosen, no matter the role. Nepotism is not something we tolerate, and for anyone who believes this is happening, I hope they share their concerns with me, or their Business Partner, so that we can act appropriately and ensure that the process remains equitable and fair for everyone. -Anita

Pros

The benefits and culture are great. Salaries are ultra-competitive.

Cons

Management is bad with confidentiality. CEO is insincere. They make all decisions based on what's best for the bottom line and not the employees.

Pros

The company culture is very laid back and people are nice. Your coworkers become your family. Plenty of benefits to employees. It is honestly a great company to work for if you work in Farmington/Utah. They do take care of their employees for the most part.

Cons

If you are remote employee you will be forgotten about. Your career advancement is basically nonexistent. Unfortunately unless you're in Utah you will eventually experience the "Utah against the remote" problem they have. To this company, remote employees are not just those working from home but those in outlying offices that even have 30 employees!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I agree that we have more of an opportunity to make our remote team members feel more connected - it’s something we’re working on. We define remote team members as those who work outside of our offices, and they are just as critical to our organization as those who work in one of our locations. We’re committed to everyone having an experience with us that allows them to do great work, and created a Remote Team Member philosophy last year that defines our commitment to their success. We also know we can improve every team member experience, and recently assembled a team of people to enhance our remote experience specifically, to make it as inclusive and rewarding as possible. Thanks for leaving the review and best of wishes for whatever is next for you! - Anita
