Pros

- Some genuinely talented coworkers - Fast-paced environment with potential for growth—if you're in the right circle

Cons

- Executive leadership, particularly CEO Eric Rea, lacks emotional intelligence and empathy. Feedback is often delivered in a condescending or dismissive way, contributing to a toxic work environment. Employees fear and avoid him. - A culture of fear prevails—decisions are top-down with little transparency, and dissenting voices are quietly pushed out. - Lack of clear direction: constant pivots and reactive strategies make it hard to feel secure or supported in your role. - The company talks a lot about values, but day-to-day behavior from upper management rarely reflects them. - Burnout is rampant due to poor work-life balance expectations.

Pros

Working at podium during their peak (2019-2021) was a dream. The culture was open and collaborative on almost all fronts, the product was new, exciting, and innovative, and work was fun. There were still perks and benefits were great! There are some incredible leaders and ICs at Podium. I wish they had a bigger influence. None of that has been the case for the last few years, other than the fact that the product is still pretty decent.

Cons

Over the last three years, things have gone downhill fast. Executive leadership behaves as if their only role is to say "yes" to anything Eric says, no matter how irrational. There have been two major layoffs, and dozens of smaller "role reductions" that have included several pregnant women and high performing individuals with no clear reason for the removal. Teams and leadership are removed on a whim, and company policies are a direct reflection of whatever leadership book was the flavor of the month. No more unlimited PTO, in office perks like snacks and lunch are virtually non existent, and the RTO policy that was presented and is now enforced is very big-brothery (think checking badge scans and alerting leaders of who has not been in office the correct percentage, despite touting a “flexible, and work-life balance centered culture.”) There is clear favoritism and special treatment - going as far as having reps who have had SEVERAL HR complaints about them and clear misogyny and homophobic behaviors flagged -- and had the complainant be told "they're in a revenue generating role, there's nothing we can do." Work/life balance does not exist and customer facing teams are completely burned out.

Pros

*good people *somewhat interesting problem space

Cons

*leadership is rudderless and makes rash decisions without consideration of their impact on the business *those who succeed here do so by showing blind allegiance to leadership no matter how reckless or illogical the direction *exec leadership seems to be the only business unit that escapes accountability for their failures *As a product manager, this is a great place if you like top-down roadmaps, manufactured urgency, and leaders who lack basic product sense
