Pros

Free smoothies? "unlimited time off"? Free lunch on wednesday? All the usual wannabe silicon valley perks that companies are trying to employ to attract talent.

Cons

Working longer hours than expected Compensation is on the low end Stress is hard enough to perform, then compounded by pessimistic leaders. Parking. Traffic congestion. Open office. So loud, makes it easy to get distracted. Work here if you don't mind your wife and kids hating you because you're never home. Diversity.

Pros

Location: halfway between Provo and SLC and close to many other companies Industry: "tech" is hot, so gaining experience in the industry will open doors People: most employees are genuinely nice and helpful and team camaraderie is high Perks: snacks, weekly lunches, and lots of Podium-branded gear (aka "swag")

Cons

Product: -the platform is simple and only marginally beneficial for customers -competitors offer either more beneficial, comprehensive services or similar features at a much lower price -the platform has no substantial competitive advantage Structure: -breaking down the functions of each department, the company can easily be characterized as a telemarketing call-center dressed as a trendy startup Management: -despite greater and greater challenges, management stays the course -when something appears out of order, management churns employees, assuming all issues are people-related

Pros

In my tenure I made some great friends and tremendously opened up my professional network.

Cons

- The E-Team hypes you up and delivers false promises during town-halls... I still have nightmares of hearing Eric in town-halls saying something like "We're doing f** amazing"... then a week later there is another large round of layoffs. -E-team is incapable of delivering bad news. They avoid town halls when they have to be in person to deliver bad news and opt for a 2 min slack video when delivering it. Then they demand all those local to office to be in physical attendance so they can spew the "great" things that are going on. - They claim culture is important, but virtually do nothing as a leadership to right the wrongs of the collapsing culture. They'll acknowledge, but not put any effort into fixing it. At one time I was point blank told it was my problem to deal with when voicing concerns (which they say they encourage... then I see who was impacted by their rif) -They mean it when they say its a business. They don't actually care about your personal career growth and you have to carve that out on your own and hope you have good managers to fight on your behalf. -Don't ask for feedback and hold AMA sessions if you don't actually want your employees to ask the questions they are all thinking... and then don't lash out and reprimand the people that are brave enough to ask the hard questions that make leadership uncomfortable. This is a classic bate and trap and just another example of how the culture of Podium is just in the tanks. -Currently Podium is not a safe place if you are BIPOC, LGBTQ+ or a woman. Its often worse if you check multiple of those boxes.
