Pros

Free lunch on Wednesday's for in person employees and onsite GYM access. A lot of my coworkers are amazing people. My direct manager has been one of the only reasons I've stayed.

Cons

In every job opening Podium lists "Transparent culture and Great opportunities for career growth" as 2 of the top benefits which is a COMPLETE LIE. Currently, Podium has not been transparent with the upcoming changes that will dissolve the Customer facing roles while demoting the entire teams to product support with possible pay cuts to come. Everyone outside of the department seems to be aware of the upcoming changes while the individuals impacted are left in the dark. There has been ZERO communication from management on this matter! Everything asked to the management is "TBD!" It’s even been stated in a company townhall "if you want stability Podium isn't for you" WOW is all I can say! There is NO work life balance and you are definitely not valued as a human. Management encourages, if not requires, dishonest behavior and lack of transparency from their team managers. Management has created an environment that is toxic and hostile. Podium claims to be "customer obsessed" but meanwhile, customers are consistently negatively impacted by the continued dishonest sales practices and extremely limited Customer Success resources. We are forced to hold customers hostage to contracts while sales tells customers they can cancel at any time despite the contract and say things like "we won't hold your feet to the fire." Written proof and recorded calls exhibiting these shady sales tactics have been given to higher management. However, NOTHING changes and sales is continually rewarded more than any other department. In addition, our management continues to implement even stricter policies for us to follow when submitting cancellations. There is ZERO accountability for the sales reps, broken integrations or other problems that lead to early cancellation requests. All of this has severely affected my mental health. I'm not able to provide value to our customers when I'm consistently forced to go against what feels right and force customers to continue paying for a product after being promised things we can't deliver on. When I joined Podium I was pitched a completely different work environment and compensation potential. I feel like our leadership and many others are always looking for any way to not pay out your bonus to the amount you earned! The data is so messy and our paychecks are docked because they can't accurately calculate things.

Pros

Pros: - Podium offers a sleek solution for the few industries that have not been forward-thinking technologically. (Ex. Home Services, Furniture Retail, Jewelry) - Traditional perks you get from any software organization - assuming you are in the office - July 4 week holiday and December - Equity grant based on the role and industry-standard vesting schedule

Cons

Cons: WHERE TO BEGIN Leadership: - Leadership has NO clear direction (PLS TRUST ME) - They don't understand their sales cycle one bit. They run their enterprise business monthly. The ONLY two enterprise customers they have were over 2-year sales cycles :/ - Accounts have changed 4x in my time here and the opportunities that most of us were working were aligned to new AE's - Onboarding/Ramp/Expectations - Onboarding is catered to SMB with a 6-month ramp. None of the significant cycles have taken less than 6 months. They’ve been closer to 2 years - No enterprise alignment - I had a 100K deal close in MY account and I was not paid for it. - 0 Diversity ~ All leadership consists of white males at every level. This Is a bro culture for sure (Coming from a white male) Product Market Fit: - This is not a solution that's a fit for enterprise companies that do not sell furniture, jewelry, or relocation services - DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE MESSAGING - Significant lack of understanding in the industries they serve. They are aware of their competitors but nothing about what’s happening in their industry. You’d be better off guessing instead of using the collateral. Or, do your own research, again… TRUST ME -All of the product updates are rolled out for SMB Headline: - If you are not close to leadership where they’ll steal accounts/opportunities from others for you ~ HARD PASS - If you are looking for a fair chance at selling ~ HARD PASS

Pros

Nice office with great views of the freeway and mountains - Fair amount of tools to do your job well - Unlimited drinks if you like soda or energy drinks - Not bad snacks - Gym access - Good parking options - The music in the Restrooms is elite - The product is simple and easy to learn - Large addressable market in general, but it's not a "good" fit for everyone like they think it is. - It would be a harder sell if we didn't leverage our connection to Google as much. Without it, we are just another platform. Quite a few nice and smart people.

Cons

Brodium through and through. Could be worse but hard to beat. - Managers are usually managers if they fit under the Brodium umbrella. Good luck getting into management if you aren't a bro, went to BYU, or spent time at Qualtrics. I can count the number of females in leadership at Podium faster then you can read one of these sentences "0". They blame the demographics of Utah, but the last time I checked Utah has incredible females ;) The managers are naive and quite honestly not good. Their value add is to tell us to call more, say value more on calls, or call more... Oh I already said that. A favorite on slack is when one of the managers tries to motivate us. Just about all of us want to tell you to kindly shut up, please. The product is fine. It's not special. The best thing about Podium right now is their payment tool. It seems to work and is getting better. Without that, I just don't know what would have happened. A 6 week diversity class simply was lip service. Honestly, I could go on and on about most of the managers, but I won't.
