Pros

Lots of Flexibility, not a lot of micromanagement. People below management were knowledgeable and helpful

Cons

- Every decision was top down and too much emphasis was on constantly shipping instead of scaling something reliable - Testing was just, not done. They loved to test in production and did little to invest in QA or pre-production testing. What's worse, proposing anything of the sort was shot down completely because it "was slow" - Rigid eng culture. Management was more interested in yes-folk - SRE team was not at all interested in reliability and instead just wanted to hand work off to others
