Pros
During the length of the contract, I did not have to worry about job stability. (Until, of course, the few months before the contact was due to expire and we did not know if it would be renewed.) They engaged Chard Snyder to administer some savings plans for anticipated medical expenses, and that was a nice benefit. Aside from the information, there was some extra money associated with that.
Cons
In 2014 and 2015, the only medical insurance that was available to us through the company had unacceptably high deductibles. We would have been better off with no insurance offerings and going through healthcare.gov. The pay was less than I was making 10 years ago. Need more paid holidays and more paid time off to get in line with other companies and the demands of family life.
