Pros

I've been here for five months, working on Postscript's AI products, which you can read about online. I've found the organization to be full of smart, authentic people who show up ready to do their best work. The company has strong leadership in both product and engineering, guiding us in the right direction to capitalize on the opportunities presented by LLMs. The roadmap is exciting, well-defined, and full of opportunities for those looking to take on significant ownership. I'm continually impressed by the quality and scope of thinking my colleagues bring, and I'm in one of those excellent career moments where the environment is helping me to learn and grow. The senior leadership team is candid and transparent about the health of the business, proactively sharing updates on our financial position and ensuring alignment on top company priorities. I'm looking forward to continuing my work here.

Cons

You might struggle here if you prefer having your hand held when it comes to product decisions - engineers are expected to make quick, pragmatic choices to drive products forward. The business places a strong emphasis on revenue-driving features, so it's not the right environment for ivory tower engineers focused solely on perfect architectural abstractions. Not necessarily a con, but culturally, everyone here is striving to do their best, which can create a strong push to work with high intensity. I've never been asked to work late, but I often find myself doing so. That said, Engineering Managers lead with empathy and are proactive in fostering a healthy working culture.

Some great, some not

Pros

The product is great, customers love us, people team is great and tries to take care of the employees with good benefits. Generally everyone's nice and good to work with. Cofos are kind and thoughtful but inexperienced.

Cons

When I joined everyone ranted and raved about how great the company culture was. But pretty immediately I got a weird feeling from some individuals. Some people have extreme egos (mainly mid management or people who had been there awhile) acting like they owned the place and you had to get on their good side to succeed. No offense but Postscript isn't extremely successful that they should have a chip on their shoulder (especially with humility being a company value). Leadership has no direction, are young and inexperienced. Every turn has felt out of no where and made with little communication. IPO is a pipe dream. A lot of people are overworked and burnt out with no end in site. Some really valuable people get skimped out on proper promotions, recognition or even have let them leave. While others who were underserving/underperforming get the promotions, resources and anything else they complained about (or had the proper "friend" connections for).

Pros

I’ve really enjoyed my time at Postscript. I worked adjacent to my manager at a previous company, so I already knew she was someone who communicates well, trusts her team, and gives people room to do great work. That made joining an easy decision. The biggest difference for me compared to past roles has been the level of trust and flexibility. I have more ownership here and somehow way less stress at the same time. People are treated like adults. You’re expected to solve problems, speak up, and contribute outside your job description if you want to. That startup energy is hard to fake. The culture also feels genuine. Smart people, low egos, and very little corporate theater. Teams collaborate well and people actually want to help each other succeed. It’s fast-paced, but in a motivating way instead of a burnout way.

Cons

Like any growing startup, priorities can shift quickly and processes are still evolving in some areas. If you prefer a very structured environment with everything mapped out months in advance, it might be an adjustment.

Cons

- can often feel like the goal post is always moving (typical with high-growth startups) - must be able to adapt and adjust quickly - aggressive company and team OKR's - lots of internal meetings
