Excellent Nonprofit Employer

Pros

Great benefits abound - healthcare, dental, vision, and TIAA contributions (automatic 10% of gross pay deposited after first two years of employment, not a matching program, no personal contribution required). Good work life balance and professional training offered and encouraged. Annual increases exceed COL and inflation usually based on performance. Recently supporting a hybrid and WFH environment, which is greatly appreciated by staff and promotes even better work life balance.

Cons

The pay can be lower than other companies, but benefits help to offset that. HR can tend to be a bit zealous in its approach to operations.

Thank you for recognizing our fantastic benefits program, and we are thrilled to hear that you and others are benefitting from our hybrid home/office work schedule. Regarding compensation, as a nonprofit organization we strive to both remain competitive in order to hire the best talent while being mindful of our financial commitment to support our mission. We believe that our salaries plus other ingredients, including the generous benefits cited, wellness and paid time off programs, and enabling work/life balance, results in an appealing package for employees. Regarding HR’s approach to operations, the team works hard to be responsive to an array of employee needs and are always open to suggestions on how we may better communicate with the staff.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and for recognizing PLI as an industry leader. We are fortunate to have dedicated staff supporting our efforts to be innovative and we strive to invest in their professional development, which in turn supports PLI’s growth and success. Regarding salary, the HR department frequently reviews relevant compensation surveys while being mindful of internal parity in effort to remain competitive and fair. That said, as a nonprofit we recognize that, on occasion, we may not be able to compete with salaries offered by for profit companies. At the same time, the total package that PLI offers in terms of outstanding benefits and work/life balance is often unparalleled in comparison.

Pros

-Industry leading product -Stable 9-5 -Salary and benefits -Work life balance -Good boss and team -Opportunity to develop software skills during free time -LinkedIn Learning

Cons

-I had the expectation that the Sales Operations Analyst position would be more focused on analytics, metrics, report building, data analysis, and providing recommendations. The majority of my time was spent on data entry and clean up, email routing, manual prospect research, investigating system issues, and various administrative tasks. The simplicity of the work made the role feel expendable. -The Salesforce platform is a work in progress. The process changes were constant and often felt unnecessary. The rollouts were chaotic and negatively interfered with workflows.

We are glad to hear that you generally had a positive experience throughout your employment at PLI, and thank you for sharing what you liked most about your time with us. While we understand that the position you held at PLI turned out not to be aligned with your personal career goals, we continue to view the contribution of this position as quite valuable to the ongoing success of the Membership Services team. We have made great strides in leveraging the Salesforce platform in the last year or so and appreciate your feedback on this. Thank you for the contributions that you made at PLI during your time with us, and best of luck in your future endeavors
