      As Premera Shifts to Offshore Contractors - Employee Outlook is Bleak

      Pros

      Things that keep me: The health insurance, the pension, the PTO is good. Flexible work from home schedule. The work itself is enjoyable. Lower management is usually caring and reasonable.

      Cons

      Why pay for good quality work, when Premera can pay an offshore 1/10th what is costs in the states. Even if those offshore employees are 1/10th the quality. I feel immense grief for the members and providers who are living the dysfunctional impact of Premeras greed.. My word of caution, anyone with a job that can be outsourced or AI could be used (eventually) to replace should be planning their exit. Executives do not care about the widespread impact. All they see is financial reports and dollar signs.

      Benefits, pension, employee health plan

      Cons

      They will tightly monitor your production and idle time. And they are now recording our screens, so goodbye to building personal relationships with my coworkers on the other side of the state. They only promote those who are learning new things, and do not provide time out of production to do the learning. If I wasn't so many years deep into this company, I'd leave it. Middle managers are grossly out of touch with reality.

      Had flexible work , good campus environment.

      Cons

      No career advancement, racist in many behaviours, non complaiance in many pra tices, people have no clue which direction they need to head to. No creativity or strive for excellence
