Pros

Excellent benefits from day one (fantastic vision, medical HSA), great pay after promotion out of entry (1-3 years, depending), reasonable FMLA accommodations, ability to work from home full time in some departments, welcoming environment to LGTBQIA+ & nursing mothers, freedom of creative expression within reason (hygiene, etc.), regular merit-based pay raises were higher than expected.

Cons

Training went from 13 weeks to 6 weeks (not enough time for complicated insurance information), promoted the cutthroat over the compassionate, excessive and unproductive meetings, unreasonable demands of new trainees, increased workload without increased help, management has poor communication with one another & the representatives, excessive micromanagement, inflexible work/life balance, bottom line more important than people.

Pros

Ground level people are great want to do something but scared. There is harmony between team members but all curse behind the back about Management.

Cons

It was one of the worst leadership I have seen in my 10 years of career at fortune 500 companies. I made biggest mistake to join. Who knows how to say yes and ppt slides are successful. Lots of BSters.

We want to create an environment where all employees’ voices are heard and they feel empowered to suggest ideas for improvement. And we know the importance of having great managers and leaders in place. That’s why we are investing in training and resources in that area. Culture change doesn’t happen overnight, but we are committed to making Premera a great place to work for all of our employees.
