Pros

The people were great! The pay was good and it felt good doing work that helped the patients in a real way. The opportunities for learning available were good. The special programs were amazing.

Cons

The training was good but because the workload was so unbalanced some people did not have the opportunity to take advantage of it. Policies were not consistent across units. And the value of Focus on People seems to be suffering the past year or so.

Pros

Offices and amenities are great, salaries are competitive

Cons

employee experience is dependent on department and manager. I've talked to many people from different departments and it was like they worked for a different company altogether - we had totally different experiences. Were micromanaged, bullied, dealt with politics, etc. I didn't encounter any of that. I had a fabulous 15 year run. I did notice that the ceo that came on in 2009 seems to avoid employees unless it's an "employee event."

Pros

Great pay, benefits, incentive compensation. There are many working there who are extremely intelligent and want to do good for all the right reasons.

Cons

No work-life balance, in spite of them saying that there is. You work many long days and sacrafice a lot of personal time for your job. The company is totally fixated on meeting numbers, numbers, numbers without any regard given to the toll it takes on the workers, and it's gotten increasingly worse since going public (bad idea). They also have some in management positions who don't know how to manage people. I've actually seen leaders hurl insults at direct-reports right in front of the customer. This is totally unprofessional and should NEVER EVER happen.
