I work in the corporate team, and have deep industry experience, and here are my honest take on Procore as a place to work: 1. Culture: had a good reputation many years ago, currently can't be any more different. Everyone is trying protect themselves from the next round of layoff, People are more focused on playing politics for optics. 2. Business outlook: increasing headwinds from a stagnant market and competitors from all sides (Autodesk, etc. and hundreds of AI startups). Management has been scrambling the past few years with no consistent strategy, direction or vision, which leads to restructuring every 6-12 months (and ongoing) 3. In this environment, your managers and co-workers will find ways to take credit from you whenever they can, There is no team work and most people are in it for themselves and trying to get on top in politics. Quality of managers and leadership is poor at best. 4. For a construction tech company, there are very little talent and expertise from construction, except very few from sales. So there is lots of reinventing the wheel and running in circles with the products and strategy. 5. Work life balance: Not the worst but because of the reasons mentioned above, you are likely to end up doing a lot of meaningless busy work that gets thrown out or reworked multiple times directed by managers and leadership that lack domain expertise and consistent strategy (or just basic management skills). 6. Pay: your recruiter will negotiate hard and get you a low ball offer to leave a bad taste in your mouth in expense of long-term quality candidate. Recruiter and hiring managers behavior are very unprofessional compared to rest of the tech industry. Pay is low and stock reward will be valued less by the time you vest. 7. Suggestions if you are considering Procore: honestly avoid this place. If you have to take the job for the money, protect yourself and protect your work. You will quickly learn you can not trust the Procoreans to take your interest seriously.
