Pros

Gainshare, Training (some parts), Culture Diversity, Friendliness of coworkers and trainers, benefits, and work/life balance The CEO is also AMAZING!

Cons

First off, let me start off by saying Progressive is a Good company. Training was a bit mediocre but great trainers. Nesting supervisor was NICE but lacked encouragement of growth. I was suppose to have a one on one every week, I would be lucky to get one one time a month. Upon being hired there were things disclosed DURING training was not told to some, such as shift bids. Shift bids are based on tenure and metrics. How well you do in this role is based on the support of your Nesting Supervisor. The sales philosophy is the WORSE! This was the biggest con for me. I felt like a robot. I wasn’t able to be my authentic self. Also pushing HO/ renters. I know selling takes a bit of push but not being able to be myself and being forced to push a product on a customer felt WRONG. I had no problem offering and educating bit I had a MAJOR ISSUE with PHA being a part of metrics.

Pros

I likes everyone that I worked with. Workload was always heavy and managers and office manager all understood that so they tried to buy us food as often as possible. There is a lot of opportunities to grow within the Claims Department if you want to but managements aren't going to push you for it either.

Cons

Claims adjusting is an extremely stressful career with any insurance company, so Progressive is no exception but they should definitely work to hire more reps and help reduce the workload. Be prepare to consistently work 45-50 hours a week and 60 during busier months. You will encounter many rude and entitled customers but there are also ones that will appreciate you. It's a tough job but can be rewarding if you're able to manage the stress that comes from dealing people who are 1) stressed since got into an accident, 2) people that will try to deceive you and you will need to confront them in some ways, 3) people that refuses to settle and negotiation goes nowhere, and 4) straight-up rude and entitled people.
