Pros

The day goes by really fast. Entertainment value from some claims balances out the volume of customer yelling. The corporate policies are structured and enforced, so little room for bullying or other negative management behaviors. Gainshare is a yearly bonus based on how the company is performing.

Cons

This the claims version of a fast food chain. Intense time pressure to process claims. Some new employees are (mysteriously) gifted with the system shortcuts, which accelerates their completion rate. The time off: to claims assigend/paused ratio is skewed against taking 2-3 days off vs 5 (or similar) such that you end up more behind when you come back from the shorter breaks. It's a churn and burn position.

Pros

Great benefits, no average call handle time

Cons

Currently experiencing a high turnover rate, lots of system changes/updates this year which is causing a multitude of system issues (potentially to many major platform changes in a short time. New change is implementedbefore bugs are resolved on the last change.) Lower level management is great and supportive but higher management has been sending out a multitude of "just deal with it" emails in regards to the higher turnover rate, extreme call volumes, not offering overtime this year to offset, offering less availability to take PTO, reducing time allowed for coaching/team meetings/progression. Chronically hiring new talent around 5% higher that experienced/current employees. Not adjusting experienced/current positions to match inflation or new hire salaries at the end of year review. Doesn't allow for negotiation/reevaluation of salaries after hire when these concerns are brought up. Lower than average salary for a position that has zero commissions.

Overworked

Pros

Pay and benefits were great

Cons

You are expected to ‘carry a full claims volume’. The problem is one week this workload could be a normal 40 hours and the next month you are expect to work 70 hours a week for no additional pay. Very few people were able to take their breaks and you will never get to know any coworkers. It’s also terrible dealing with immature customers who will cuss you out over something that’s not in your control.
