Pros

Gainshare in December and January is cool. And then it’s right back to dealing the fools who can’t drive.

Cons

Huge workload everyday, if someone quits, your team will split their claims up among the group- in addition to your 8 new claims every day. If you’re a file owner, congrats. Your job responsibilities are all over the place. You get the claims and work that either everyone else doesn’t have time to do or work that is undefined so mgmt just gives it to the file owner/adjuster

Don't do it

Pros

None. Nothing. There are none.

Cons

No work life balance. Don't care about you. You're just a number. Awful company to work for. They keep you there with their annual bonus. Pay you just enough to make you not want to leave. Not worth it.

Pros

I worked at Progressive for almost 3 years. During my tenure I went from knowing zero about insurance to almost the entirety of the auto product. The company really invested in training and sent us across the country for corporate training which was nice. The company was already participating in remote work prior to the pandemic which was also a perk. Opened up the door for "rotational" roles and learn a new line of work within claims.

Cons

Politics played a role in promoting to other positions. I witnessed individuals with lower tenure get promoted due to nepotism. There was also a lack of diversity hires and minorities in management in this particular office. A lack of transparency and a burnout culture. The job itself is very challenging, dealing with people's' trauma on a daily basis with very little support and only importance with meeting metrics. If you find yourself not in a different role within a year, I would suggest you leave.
