Pros

For my SDET position daily start and end times were Flexible. The work I did could be performed at home or in office.

Cons

The company doesn't invest in its employees. As soon as the contract I worked on was done so was I. As far as I was aware no attempt was made to place me elsewhere in the company.

Pros

Prowess has a steady supply of contract work from a very large software company, but the range of roles is limiting. If someone wants to show and do similar tasks day in, day out, then this might be a good fit. Good fit if you live in the Seattle area.

Cons

The available roles are non-creative and based on legacy technologies. This would be a poor choice to expand your career. Management is odd. Managers take criticism all the time, but Prowess managers seem to disproportionally condescending and can make even the most confident technologists feel like they’re being spoken down to. Wouldn’t be as painful if they were actually competent, but they’re doing a lot of faking. Truth is, they’re like most contract agencies, but don’t like to admit it.

Pros

There are some amazing people working here. So much depends on who your manager is. There's flexibility to work from home.

Cons

The company is disjointed and lacks strategic direction. There's a history of bringing in talented people and giving them responsibility without authority. The culture is falling apart despite the hard work of individuals trying to hold things together.
