Prudential is a family owned business and though it may appear as an upside, it actually is it's greatest weakness. Upper management is not set to the high standards of a public company. Their survival is predicated on their goodwill with ownership. Their poor performance or questionable directives will go unnoticed. A prospective employees success is predicated on their ability to skillfully brow nose upper management. A Sales and Service Manager can lead his region in every category, but if he fails to flatter his superiors he will be forced out. While a sub-par performer can skillfully brown nose himself into a promotion. This practice is evident at both the branch and corporate level. To be truly successful at Prudential is to follow this philosophy. Prospective employees should also expect to perform several jobs, as branches are run lean to increase profit margins. Hard work is undervalued and toadyism is appreciated. Prospective employees should consider working for companies with wider geographical coverage and bigger budget, you'll be compensated better (Cintas, Aramark).
