Pros

Lots of good people. Your fellow employees really care about you. If you like to travel, you get to see various places. You get to do new things on most projects.

Cons

You will spend way too much time writing proposals. You will spend way too much time arranging your own travel. Pay is about 20% lower than other companies. Company infrastructure does not provide you with the tools you need to do your job.

Pros

Each office tenor and demeanor is set by the local managers- and mine is great Benefit package is great Attempts to communicate are increasing

Cons

No opportunity for advancement in Operations unless you move to another geographic office Promise of additional education is preseeneted but the caveat of "not for people in your position" was never mentioned unitl I applied for the program While lots of talk of accountability, transparency and real reporting- it is all a wink and nod with low level employees constantly having to find places to book hours that projects cannot afford but need

Pros

client mix is interesting and the public sector focus is unique. manager compensation - if you can get there - is high, colleagues can become good friends and the location in Boston is great.

Cons

Managers can treat staff like crap and never feel repurcussions - managers run units like small tribes expecting complete loyalty from their staff (rewarding those who best kiss-their-behind and punishing those who dare to disagree) and inter-tribal competition is fierce. Earlier comment (attributed to a principal of the firm) of "we eat our young" is accurate, "people get to pick their teams" can result in qualified & capable staff getting canned (have seen it happen) and the old boys network means that they only women who are near the top act like the men (no work life balance, crude humor, beat up staff, etc)
