Pros

Benefits are pretty good, Credit union on site. QVC Difference experience. Keeps up with the latest technologies. Great Development team (IT). Job stability

Cons

No room for growth. Came here with the expectations that QVC is big on career growth and promoting within - NOT TRUE! You don't get promoted unless you are favored - it doesn't matter how hard you work it goes unnoticed because you are not a fav. Only the favs get perks like working from home and promotions. A lot of favoritism. Pay is low compared to most IT Positions at other companies. No structure in IT. No appreciation to their teams and no trust. Managers don't know how to manage some do not even have IT backgrounds! I felt misled when I took this position. They rather invest in hiring contractors than to promote within and give the money to its current employees. Not recognition to employees for the hard work and hours put in. They expect you to do the next level's work or job but won't give you the promotion/title or the pay for the work your doing

Unrealistic expectations in a volatile environment

Pros

Benefits, Sample sales, Employee Discount

Cons

Unrealistic expectations to be completed within a 40 hour work week. The work load per person requires that you work far more than 8 hours per day...even if you are salary you are expected to work on weekends for events. Its a 24/7 business & you are expected to be available even though you are not compensated for it. They preach work life balance yet the "expectations" do not allow for much balance. There are so many meetings about meetings that it is impossible to get your actual work done during business hours, yet it is expected you get everything done before leaving for the day. I would not recommend working at QVC to anyone.

Pros

it is an innovative and exciting company - there are some very good people working there trying to do very good things.

Cons

It is all in who you know. If you laugh and hang out with the high school behaving HR in-crowed .. you'll be successful. It's like the mean girls club .... if you don't 'look' like them ... you're out. Overall - it appears management doesn't like African Americans ..... it's hard to believe there are so few with the skill set for mid to sr level jobs.
