Pros

* Best in class engineering team and fantastic, driven people * The world is your oyster - lean startup means theres massive opportunity to make an impact and become a key member part of Qumulo's journey to IPO/Exit. There's basically no micromanagement and you are given a ton of independence * You will feel like you are part of something important, exciting, engaging, awesome, and fun. * Our customers are awesome, work on really cool stuff, and it's great to talk to them * Our business performance keeps improving YoY :) * Seattle HQ is awesome - has great views - tons of space

Cons

* This isn't for everyone. At larger companies there's more structure and process. Roles are more tightly defined and you can safely play in a single lane. Be prepared to spend some time orienting yourself and finding how to apply your talents and deliver the most value. * Since the shift in economic outlook and the mass tech industry layoffs, play time is over. Qumulo is firing on all cylinders which means lots of stuff going on, lots to keep up with. This isn't just a paycheck - its a mission.

Pros

- Majority of the people are people you are proud to know. I’ve made friends with some of my co-workers and truly enjoy time spent with them. - overall pay is reasonable coming in, but impossible to get pay raises or promotions so actually a negative - benefits are good: unlimited PTO, very affordable healthcare for families

Cons

- start-up culture where there are “untouchables” - senior management claims “transparency” but they never disclose financial hardships - everything is “great” (but lay-offs always feel imminent) - no job security, you’re easily replaceable - limited processes and standards - promotions are not based on performance or merit but completely political - no industry visibility, unknown company - no matching contributions - production issues, so in sales there are delays - ppl in the sales org generally are never “OOO”, someone is always pinging you - based in such a bad area in downtown Seattle, it is not safe
