Great company and culture

Pros

I've been working at Qumulo over two years. What I love most is the culture. People are down to earth and genuinely care about each other and want to help each other. The space we are in is exciting, we are growing fast and people are generally working in the same direction. The lack of internal competition and ego is refreshing.

Cons

The company is growing fast. It's hard for systems and processes to stay ahead of the curve which can sometimes be frustrating.

Pros

Good office location before covid-19 and good culture on teams below senior management

Cons

Leaders in senior management are toxic. Recent executive churn. Good employees are getting cut loose for the wrong reasons and without warning. Weak managers are driving the culture down. New cloud leader is abysmal and came with a horrible reputation.

Pros

Lots of smart, fun and hardworking people that are deeply passionate about the company product, culture and customers. The product is great (with a few exceptions) and there is a palpable "space race" feel to beat out the competition. It's easy to feel motivated and energized working at Qumulo.

Cons

For all the great things about Qumulo, there is a major disconnect between the leadership and the rest of the org. Whether it's pretending to still "share by default" or not honestly addressing real challenges or mistakes, most people I worked with seemed to have lost trust in the ELT. It's not the end of the world, it just feels more like working at a big company with lots of conversations that take place behind closed doors compared to the Qumulo vibe from a few years ago that made people feel so passionate and connected to the company's success. Qumulo also seems to think that to become a successful cloud company you just need to say it loud enough.
