Pros

*Various work shifts from 8,10 and 12 hour shifts day, afternoon, evening and night available * Shift Differentials * Good Medical Benefits *Some opportunities for growth

Cons

* communication between departments is not always the greatest and sometimes non existent * management and supervisors don’t always practice what they preach and play favorite * pettiness between co workers and lots of cliques * call in policy (only allowed 3 call-ins for the entire year before receiving a write up and each call in does not reset on a calendar year schedule, a call in does not drop off until the month and day of the next year) and no sick leave , given what we are exposed to in certain departments, especially the ER does not coincide with the clinical staffs policy and we are exposed just he same * lots of different programs used throughout the day but only given one monitor

Pros

High technology base. Great programs to track goals and maintain metrics. Great pay! Definitely an innovator leading the way in Revenue Cycle Mangement.

Cons

Costly health care & not great coverage. May move too fast with implementing new technology. Moves ahead with or without your team being fully trained. Significant failures to communicate when other departments (Shared Services) change processes that extremely effect your workflow. Outsourced as many Jobs and functions as possible to overseas teams.

Pros

At least I had a job for a short time

Cons

When R1 took over the Health Information department they changed everything with out asking the people who do the work what they thought. Everyone I know goes home crying on a regular basis and is upset alot of the time there is too much work and not enough people. The pay is terrible and management does not seem to really care. Corporate could NEVER keep my PTO straight it was always needing to be adjusted. I was let go due to techniqality which is fine. It was time to move on. I felt like a dandelion who had killer sprayed on it and was dying for the inside out. I am much happier now.
