      So far an excellent job has been done to accommodate remote work in response to the pandemic, the challenge will be moving on to next steps in a manner that respects the choices and needs of employees. This is not really a Con but more an opportunity for healthful growth.

Culture is a perpetual strength of REI and we are proud of our caring and collaborative teams. Nevertheless, we are disappointed to hear that location (and traffic) proved to be a drawback for you. With a wide variety of positions, it is highly likely that one of our many remote or hybrid opportunities may be a better fit for you or others in a similar situation. We have high expectations of our leaders and know that quality of leadership determines much of our day-to-day work experience. As for salary, we continue to monitor market-based industry benchmarks to ensure that we remain competitive in this rapidly changing market. Furthermore, pay is a complex dynamic across multiple positions and levels, so we recently conducted a fresh internal analysis of our entire compensation structure.
