Pros
- Free food on some days. - Occasional team outings. - Office location. - Casual attire at work
Cons
There are many downsides to working at RPM - Pathetic work culture ( truly garbage management). - No feedback for your work and there's no appreciation for a job done extremely well. - Extremely high turnover. People leave very quickly or get fired without any notice or performance improvement discussions. If you are lucky to survive a few months, you would end up hating your life and would want to quit. - Your time is tracked, every minute you spend in the office has to be tracked to some work (lunch is not paid). Don't assume that no one will pay attention to it. The managers will actually go into your time sheet, pin point every minute spent and send you an email asking for clarifications and justification even if you finish your task within the allocated time, stating that "technically you should have been able to do it earlier than that " - Everyone is on their toes and scared about their jobs and will try to blame the other person for anything wrong. There is no accountability and ownership of mistakes. - Some of the people who have been in the company for many years are a real pain to deal with, their project reviews are pointless and condescending. - The management will never hold the tenured people accountable for anything, it is always the new person who gets blamed for a mistake even when the report/document is reviewed and approved by the senior. So you are telling me its the new person who is 100% at fault for a mistake and the tenured employee has nothing to do with it? Then why even get any documents reviewed? - Salaries are below average and there are NO BONUSES. - There are no internal processes or documents or project information. The project charter is just filth which will probably give you negligible information and adds no value to the project scope. - You will be assigned to a project and there will no information available to do your research. Once you run around the office and different departments to understand the needs you will fall so behind on your work that now you will have to rush through the entire report because your time is tracked and the work quality will suffer. -I understand that people who do not have a job or have less experience would be tempted to join RPM, if you have no other option then join, get your feet wet and leave. If you dont have an urgent need and have few other interviews lined up then you should definitely focus on other companies. RPM should be kept as the last resort.
