Desperately Lacking Diversity

Pros

Free snacks Fun atmosphere when it’s time for fun There was a gym in the building when I was there

Cons

Racetrac is suffering from a chronic lack of diversity. Most everyone at the corporate office is white, with HR being almost completely white, young, and southern. It was like working out of a UGA frat or sorority house. They have had black people in HR in various roles in the past, who they successfully constructively push out. It would serve the EEOC well to investigate the past few years of hirings, firings, and voluntary resignations at Racetrac. I know of at least 10 employees of color who were casually and gradually pushed out. They don’t seem to tolerate LGBT well, either. So you will do fine as long as you’re a young, white, Republican dog owner. Anyone else will be smiled at, but actively removed via covert means. It will be untraceable for the most part, so take lots of notes and document everything.

Pros

Laid back just like a family business, everything is not as important as it would be at other companies. Most of the people are very nice.

Cons

Management is not engaged with reality. I agree with the previous posts, management started as interns and have been here since. No outside experience at all. which means this company does not operate like other companies. The focus of Racetrac is to keep doing what they have always been doing. Advancing the company needs experience from people that have more experience than, one job, at one company. In my opinion, they need to dismiss the entire upper management and hire outside experience. Lastly the current management acts like a bunch of lost souls in the wilderness, looking for something they don't know how to find, even if its right i front of them. Oh by the way, it ask to rate the CEO. There is no CEO. She left, at least that's what they say. RaceTrac has been around longer than most of the top convenience stores, but comes in dead last as far as revenue and number of stores. I wonder why?
