Pros

Yankee Leisure Group has personally afforded me amazing opportunities to grow. I've moved from a member of our sales team, to managing a sales team, to product development, to overseeing a global sales team. to even moving abroad and managing an office overseas. The most exciting aspect of that is how many such similar stories of development and success our team members share. For all of us, a common factor was not just a willingness but a desire to ask for challenges and get out of our comfort zones. That proactive approach to learning and the support of our leadership who are always eager to guide anyone eager to grow has opened doors and opportunities faster than anything. Experience plays its part but talent and initiative more so. Don't wait for someone to hand you a promotion, responsibility or career or rely on tenure to get you there. On our team, being a perpetual student on your own paves the way, then the promotions and opportunities always come naturally. The company is also highly adaptive. In boom times I've always loved how quickly we can grow because not being set in our ways as well as quick to spot an opportunity and jump on it is embedded in our corporate DNA and culture. Much of that growth and change is driven by our team and YLG is definitely committed to great ideas whether they come from leadership, down to our management and veterans, all the way to the newest team members. All great ideas are highly sought after and put to use whenever possible. On a personal level, I've also never been part of a team in the business world that really does achieve work/life balance as YLG does. I've worked for others who speak to it and most really try but fall short. Having a family and a career but keeping the professional and personal spheres in healthy balance isn't something YLG just figured out in the current environment. It's been a positive of working here for years. The customers, the needs of the business and the hard work that goes with those are a given but so is the importance of family and I have ALWAYS been supported in this by Yankee Leisure Group.

Cons

Being a small company that's eager to grow, you have to truly love change to get the most out of your time at YLG. Every year that I've been a member of this family, we've grown. The current year is no different when it comes to learning and building for the future even in a challenging environment. If you are looking for somewhere cozy to land, we may not be the team for you. As I mentioned above, we are restless when it comes to our business. We not only accept change as necessity, we embrace our constant evolution whole-heartedly. If that is exciting to you, you will succeed here. If not, you won't achieve the same success that is possible for others. This isn't a CON for me, but it can be problematic for prospective team members looking for something that isn't fast-paced or highly dynamic.

Pros

- Collaborative & inspirational work environment with the flair of a start-up. - Talk about travel & make travel reservations all day long. We are selling a unique & a fun product. - Been to a lot of National Parks & I have done 2 of the finest and most scenic train routes in the US. - Good work benefits & healthcare coverage. Nice!

Cons

- In the travel industry, there can be all types of schedule delays, engineering work that impact our clients, lost luggage... on the bright side though you will gain good active listening skills and with the right attitude you might find that you are better for it. - Communication at all levels is always a work in progress; but of late the improvements have been in strides. This can be a little hurdle when you are opening up offices in different countries. - It does get loud at times in the office with the open plan configuration, but it most definitely makes for better teamwork.

Pros

Many opportunities for growth within the company and that is promoted by management. I have worked here six months and have already had the opportunity to increase my responsibility in this company. The staff is friendly and willing to help. Anytime I have any questions I feel supported by my team and they always can give me the correct answer. Fam trips! Since we work in the travel industry we get to experience the trips that we sell first hand. Every year we get to go on at least one fam trip and it is also a great way to meet the people in one of the four offices that we have! Respect for each other. At Railbookers everyone is respectful in the office of one another.

Cons

At this time I have no cons.
