      Pros

      Networking....Rain Bird hires good people. Working for Rain Bird looks good on your resume since they only hire the best from the best schools. Keep in touch with people after they leave and you will have a strong network of the best in the industry.

      Cons

      Rain Bird fires good people. There is constant turnover at Rain Bird. Rain Bird takes months to find the perfect individual to hire, then fires them after a year. It is not easy to find someone working in a management spot for more than 1 year.

      Decent pay, good name in the market

      Cons

      You probably won't last more than 2 years! When I hit my 2 year mark, there were only 2 people with my title with more seniority than me out of @25 positions. I'd see plenty of people start and end their career with RB in my relatively short tenure.

      The grass is not greener at the Bird

      Pros

      Level of integrity and knowledge of co-workers. Rain Bird is very picky.

      Cons

      No feedback -- people think they're being summened for a promotion, only to find out that they're being let go. Management is incented to increase productivity every year. The fasted way to increase productivity is to reduce staff. It's a very patriarchial system, with Tony LaFetra as the domineering father whose respect you can never earn. Micromanaging, SBU directors are not allowed to run their divisions or make decisions. Tony makes all fo the decisions for them. The most bizarre plce I've ever worked.
