Pros

Great people. Fun environment. Strong sales culture. Fantastic leadership and mentoring. HR department is solid and does a great job helping employees. Opportunity for growth is there.

Cons

A company cannot claim to care about it's employees if it doesn't offer sick leave or maternity leave. Those two things are mutually exclusive. Whoever set up the 401k doesn't understand what the word match means. rateGenius has grown tremendously over the past 5 years and has made a lot of money, it's time to step up and take care of your employees.

Thank you for your feedback; to address one of the items that was a concern. Several years ago the employees requested to have more flexible days than either sick or vacation; so we grouped them together and created more flexible use of your days with PTO days. The number of PTO days we offer is above standard in Austin; a new hourly employee can earn up to two weeks during their very first year and take time after 90 days. Thanks for the remarks on paid maternity leave. And best of luck!

Pros

Office Work, No Travel, Saving Consumers Money on Loans, & Finance Knowledge

Cons

Terribly expensive benefits, god awful work life balance, pay that doesn't match others in industry, worst leaders at both the executive level and middle management that conduct questionable behavior and practices employees are too scared to call out as HR only exists there to protect the company, zero opportunity to move up, a 12 month non compete is required to start employment (they will investigate, brag about it in company wide meetings after you've left, and sue you), etc

Good example of how to not do your job Learn about favoritism Learn efficient ways of cutting corners Learn how to miss deadlines Work with people who don't know what they are doing Learn what a black hole is Learn about chain of command - hire incompetent people so when cuts happen you are safe Get promoted more quickly than women if you are a male
