Destroyed my mental health (Toxic social team culture and leadership)

Pros

- The salaries are higher compared to some agencies - There are some really great, kind people on the social team who are open to collaboration and new ideas.

Cons

- Leadership chooses to turn a blind eye to the actual problems of the team culture, which is primarily the bullying and gaslighting from upper management. My mental health significantly deteriorated working here, specifically from the constant negative pressure and manipulating behavior from a team lead. - Nearly all of the team from when I worked there is gone and the group after.

A great place to start...then quickly look for another position.

Pros

- Office encourages the entrepreneurial spirit. - A great team on the entry and medium level positions. My immediate team fed my interest in staying at the company. - Fosters a place of learning and professional development.

Cons

- Horrible work life balance with unpredictable, long working hours. This only intensified during the WFO transition during the pandemic. - I felt gaslighted numerous times by senior leadership during my time at Real Chemistry in particular over merit increases, bonuses, and time off. Vocalizing a negative experience would often leave me feeling ignored without any real steps to remedy the internal mistake. This eventually lead me to search for another position during my last three months at the company. - Notes on starting salaries are true. You will be offered an attractive starting salary, but this number will quickly seem underwhelming once you start working the ridiculously long hours. - Favoritism is SUCH a big factor in your success at Real Chemistry. Senior leadership spends a lot of time stroking their own egos, and the upper management structure never made any sense with titles that seemed to be pulled from a hat.

While we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the entrepreneurial approach we have ingrained in our DNA, we are sorry to hear your experience with respect to career development. We recognize work/life balance has become more difficult to manage with the shift to remote working, although we have looked to recognize all the effort shown by our employees – for example, we promoted over 275 people in 2021, giving growth opportunities and pay raises accordingly. This process is reviewed by a number of internal teams to focus on performance and remove unconscious bias, as we want to encourage success for all our employees.

What is W2O??? i had been here for 2 years and still cant figure out what we do as a company. The worst Implementation of a new system (Netsuite) Management does not care a bit about you. VERY High turnover rate Unstructured environment

We are sorry to hear that you are so frustrated with the company in your current role. We are even more disheartened that you haven’t taken the time to come and talk to HR or your manager. We understand that anonymous feedback sites like Glass Door allow people to share important information without repercussions but we also highly value our employees and would hate to think they aren’t happy. We hope you will consider reaching out to your manager or HR to help work through this. Further, we have brought this comment to Jim’s attention and as always, he respects and appreciates getting constructive feedback from all parts of the organization and intends to continually improve the firm and himself based on it.
