Pros

If you can keep up with the cons and not let them bother you, there are a lot of learning opportunities here. Home office perks are nice.

Cons

Management weaponizes assigned workload, and will threaten disciplinary action if all tickets are not completed by sprint end, regardless of workload. Assignments don't have explicitly stated deadlines, however, stakeholders have expectations that they don't communicate. No onboarding present when transitioning to home office team, and documentation is almost nonexistent. Aquisitions, consider jumping ship: RealPage fosters a hostile work environment in certain divisions, and your company culture will change, your coworkers will change, and restructuring will happen and people will lose their jobs due to "restructuring" regardless of what the company promises, even when teams are overworked and understaffed.

Thank you for your post. There are a lot of learning opportunities here and we appreciate you pointing that out. Everyone has their own perspective on the culture and across the board it would not be categorized as hostile. Based on the recent pulse surveys and how we have demonstrated great empathy during COVID-19 we have score they greatly exceeds Fortune Most Admired companies. Unfortunately, you may have been in a role and function that was the exception to the rule. We wish you well in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

My manager and coworkers were nice. Strong products.

Cons

Outdated or bad sales practices. For example, management thought “going for a no” instead of a yes was a good strategy, so reps would say things like “would it be a ridiculous idea for you to attend?!” every time they asked for a meeting. Another example: “you don’t know me, but I was hoping you could help me for a moment.” Hearing things like this made me cringe. Quota attainment in SMB is really low. The onboarding process consists of 1 week of meetings, then it’s just shadowing as many calls as possible. Since there is not a formal SOP (standard operating procedure), every rep does something different in SMB. Internal processes can take forever. It can take up to a couple days just to schedule a sales engineer on a demo. You are not paid commission when you close a deal—you are paid when software is implemented. This is a problem because it usually takes 3-6 months to get everything implemented. Pricing for SMB is all over the place. Everything is massively discounted, and in most cases, you will need to wait for approval from the pricing committee. Demos are painful. Even as the sales rep, it was hard to listen to. Basically, just sales engineers reading through a script, sometimes for HOURS at a time. It’s not relevant or tailored to the prospect at all. In my experience, I wish I would’ve saved my time and worked somewhere else.

Pros

- Great compensation - Great insurance - Great PTO

Cons

- Fast-pace environment depending on where you are placed - Positions at this position are very marginalized. You attempt to setup one thing, but have to go through several other people just to do your one task
