Accounting team has some major issues

Pros

Great facilities, Team engagement, and I love the people I work with.

Cons

Realpage accounting has some major issues with acquisitions and integrating them into the main realpage system. To be fair, they have developed a team to help integrate things. However, the old systems that are still not integrated have so few ppl with access that it is near impossible for GL accounting to reconcile/ review. There are several accounts that I am responsible for reconciling that I don't even have read only access to that system. They have had quite a few senior staff leave the company and they seem to be in no rush to hire replacements. I know that HR will probably respond and say that they are looking or that there are open positions, but the truth is that the wave of exits is probably not ending anytime soon. For my own personal perspective, it feels like there is no support for people on the lower levels, but we are always blamed and criticized for not noticing issues, when we don't have access to the details to be noticed.

Thank you taking the time to make this specific post. When I step back and listen to what you are saying, I can tell that while frustrated, you actually care about your work environment. I am sharing this post with our CFO and I know he is very interested in creating a better working environment for the team. Again, thank you for you post. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

By far one of the greatest aspects of working at RealPage is the people! I get the opportunity to work alongside some of the top experts in our industry. Our large customer base also provides exposure to some of the legends of our industry. Our RealWorld user conference is a virtual “Who’s Who” of multifamily real-estate. RealPage is a rapidly growing place where, despite our size, it’s actually quite easy for each individual to get involved and really impact what is now almost a $1B organization. Your career here is really what you make it. The fast-moving environment provides plenty of room for upward mobility, and no two days are the same – if you get bored here then you’re not working hard enough! Total compensation, including employee stock plans, is very competitive. The corporate HQ offers one of the best campuses in the DFW area, and the perks and amenities are many!

Cons

RealPage is growing at incredible speed, and while that is part of what makes it a fun place to be, it definitely comes with some heartache too. We’re given plenty of opportunities to share feedback, and for the most part, I feel like the management team does a pretty good job of addressing our concerns.

Thank you for your post and advice. A couple of things, the " Steve Talk" emails are coming back. The Q4 memo was written and will now be a carry over into Q1. We are closing out the year and will talk about that, 2019 priorities and expect to see a dedicated focus to the topic of Inclusion. You may not know that all GAM meetings are recorded and you can watch them ayc. Thanks again for your post and I am glad you are on the team. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

Job was not hard. Pretty easy stuff. You just answer inbound calls from customers that wanted to know about a specific apartment complex. The building I worked in had a very nice break room, and a Playstation 4.

Cons

Not really many opportunities for growth. Workforce (the scheduling people) was pretty bad. I had been there for a year and was always scheduled for 11 am to 8 pm while other employees were there less than that and they had 8 am to 5 pm. The customers that call in are very rude. I have seen people just leave the job because they could not handle the calls that came in. The opportunities for growth were limited on the call center side.

Thank you for your post...Looks like you could handle the work just fine. Looks like both shifts of work encompassed 9 hours. Do we get some rude customers calling in, unfortunately that happens within every contact center. Your advice is very fair, and all employees do have access to future positions within the company. Your question may be more to how to access the positions. I will pass that comment along to this team. All the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining
