Post- Acquisition Blues

Pros

Selling Recorded Future's product suite is a blast. The product itself is so diverse, and the number of modules to sell keeps the process fresh and new each time. Hats off to the product management team, who keep up with the trends and continue to innovate in the space.

Cons

"Every man for themselves" mentality continues to hurt the organization. The C-suite does not fully understand the product and lacks the necessary skills to motivate the sales organization effectively. Morale is at an all-time low. Partially because leadership is not present in the field. The sales leaders have not gotten to know their employees. After the acquisition, the company has lost its mojo, and it shows through our performance. The company has gained a negative reputation for employee happiness.

Toxic marketing culture under current leadership

Pros

Talented people. Meaningful mission and unique product. The Mastercard sale has brought an influx of professionalism into the organisation.

Cons

SVP leads through fear and control instead of collaboration. High turnover as employees gradually see that things haven't changed. Smart and capable people work here but the marketing department has become a unhealthy place to work. The result is confusion, rework and a team that's on edge. People try to stay invisible — no one wants to draw attention because her behaviour can be cutting and brutal. She's made people cry in meetings and most people try to avoid getting noticed. The same attitude has spread to her senior leaders who manage reactively. Morale is low and plenty are looking for new jobs after seening repeated HR reports go nowhere. It's a shame because this could be an incredible team inside inside a growing company.

Pros

I have been at Recorded Future for a few years now and have met some of the most genuine people I've worked with. It is hard to talk about the culture of an entire company but what I can see are pockets of kind, passionate, and purpose-driven individuals anywhere I look.

Cons

Like any big company it can hard to maintain culture as you hire fast. But I am confident that the many talented individuals who truly embody the Recorded Future values will quiet the misaligned noise of a few and keep on building an environment that is not only inclusive but also constantly standing up for what is right.
