Pros

It's a really fun atmosphere and free movies are great. If you enjoy the work there, there are some opportunities to advance (although once you hit FT associate you have to wait for people to basically leave the company or switch tracks to go any higher).

Cons

Because of the issue with insurance we are only given a certain amount of hours. Even FT positions I think average less than 40 a week. Sometimes the guests can be frustrating given the way they treat you considering the amount of work that you do for your position.

Pros

There are a lot of perks to working for Regal Entertainment. For starters, there is free popcorn and drinks during your breaks (if you bring your own containers), you can see all the movies for free, discounted concessions, flexible schedules especially for a student ( I know because I've been a student for my entire career at Regal as both cast member and management) but I think the best part is working for a company that has many internal opportunities. A lot of the corporate office is made up of past theater managers which means they understand where you are coming from and they really just want to be able to help you!

Cons

Sometimes it may feel stressful, if its understaffed one day or a customer comes in grumpy, but if you have a good attitude, a great crew of co workers, a smile on your face and you don't take little things like that personally, its a really wonderful place to be :)

Pros

I started this job as a cast member and worked my way up to management. Very flexible shifts for cast members and management. Management experience has opened a lot of doors for me. There were a lot of cons for me pertaining to Regal as a company. My theater was amazing, very high performing, all the employees were like a family and I have developed so many amazing life long friendships that I wouldn't have made without Regal. But the corporate sector is where I have my issues. My advice: this job is FUN. You get free movies and the staff is truly like a family. I wouldn't trade my time with Regal for anything. But get out before you start to see "behind the curtain". It will ruin this job for you. I worked for Regal for almost a decade and towards the end, I became very bitter about the corporate infrastructure, but like I said, I wouldn't trade my time here for anything.

Cons

For management: late hours if you're a closer, customer complaints are multiple times a day and I find that many of our customers are very entitled and many of the things they complain about are things that they did incorrectly (didn't look up correct showtimes) or things out of our control (mall issues/other patrons being bothersome). For cast members: a lot is asked of the cast members in relation to their pay. Late nights, lots of cleaning (sometimes puke/bodily fluids), upsell/suggestive sell every single transaction, asking for donations to charity if it's the summertime, big releases mean high attendance, and if it's busy, it's a very fast paced environment. Minimum wage/barely above minimum is NOT enough for what we ask of our cast members. As a manager, I was happy with my hourly wage, but I have always felt like cast members are taken advantage of in regards to their pay. Also, payroll is a huge issue and it's Regal's number one concern alongside their survey scores. If it's slow, cast members are asked to leave early or their shifts are cut before they even come in. For management, corporate sets ridiculous payroll guidelines that you must meet, or else your district manager will be looking for an excuse (and it better be good).
