Pros

I used to love this job. The staff keeps me sane now.

Cons

- No part time management positions at my location - New pay caps enforced - Restructuring of Management: This has led me to essentially be laid off by the company I have been loyal to for 8 years. Since our location is essentially dividing management in half and then half again, I can only be a team lead... and if I do, I have to be full-time. As a full-time college student, this is pretty much impossible. So my only option? Go to floor staff and make a cap of $9.50. Seriously? I also think it is very sad that there are still part-time positions available out there, but it has only been communicated that at our location all of these positions (team lead, associate manager) must be full time. Why isn't the company providing those of us getting demoted with internal job boards for team leads, part time positions that will potentially at other locations so that we can browse around? Wait, they'd rather just pay me $9.50. I should have known when Regal acquired our theater that it would all be going downhill from there. They didn't even give us a new manager's bonus for clothing even though some of us had been wearing a uniform provided by our old ownership for years. We were expected to spend our own money on a uniform when a person could come in the next day and get their bonus. Cineworld, you have made me hate everything about the movie industry. Why did I even work the holidays this year just to lose my job? Gosh, you've ruined the employee morale at my location. All anyone does anymore is sit around and pick their thumbs. Thanks for viewing us as numbers and not people.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to learn that your staff and fellow Regal employees are a positive part of your work experience. We are sorry to learn that you feel especially impacted by our recent restructuring. We recognize that the management restructuring has taken away some flexibility for part-time management positions. It is also our priority to ensure that our employees understand our decisions and feel as though they have been respected in the process. We are very disappointed to learn that you do not feel this way and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experiences further. Please reach out to morgan.grimes@regalcinemas.com at your convenience. We sincerely appreciate your service to our company and value your efforts to make Regal the best place to watch a movie.

Pros

Easy going, flexible hours, friendly theatre staff

Cons

Since being purchased by Cineworld, Regal has gone downhill. The new management shows no regard for employee satisfaction. Our movie privileges went from 2 tickets per day to 2 tickets per week. Much of our infrastructure was removed without adequate replacements. Limiting payroll is prioritized over customer service needs. The employee of the month program was cut and not replaced. Position wages were adjusted to allow for less room for advancement. Things have really gone down hill in recent months.

Thank you for your feedback. We value the opportunity to hear candid sentiments from our employees. While the reduction in free movie tickets may be frustrating, the change came after careful research and analysis of the results supporting that the new model would better align to the number of movies employees were seeing per month. Change is difficult, and it creates a learning curve for everyone, which heightens tensions. If we continue to work together, we will be able to navigate through the newness of these changes and will soon be comfortable in our work again. Prioritizing our customer needs and employees has not and will not change in the future. Please reach out to us at morgan.grimes@regalcinemas.com with any additional feedback or questions

Pros

You will meet unforgettable people while working here.

Cons

-Cineworld ruined Regal. Upper level executives are extremely out of touch, lack basic leadership skills, and lack empathy. -Theaters get weekly threatening emails from upper management to remind us how disposable we are to them. Here’s some inspiring quotes from our district manager and regional director: “Follow the rules or we will start training your replacement” “You should rethink your employment choices” -Ridiculous rules and policies set in place to make regal “The best place to watch a movie” including: no signage, no tensabarriers to organize lines, and no trash cans in the restrooms (?). -Regal decided to start the new year with cutting everyone’s favorite perk of working here: free passes. It almost made up for getting paid the bare minimum. Truly a slap in the face, especially after the holidays. -Just when everyone thought things couldn’t possibly get worse, Regal reconstructed the entire management structure: cutting pay, getting rid of raises, implementing pay caps, and forcing some to be demoted. -Keep in mind, this is all disguised with their mission to make Regal “The Best Place to Watch a Movie”. Which is very laughable. Please do not respond to this with your generic robotic response that uses the new mission statement as an excuse to be horrible to your employees. We can all see through it.
