They make externs do a lot of things that are not in their scope of practice. They’re inconsistent with what the expect from us, the scheduling is not the best..They like to micromanage. Management fired externs on the spot because they were talking about going to another hospital. You would pick up a lot of bad habits working at this facility. PCC sit in the office and gossip all day and are barely seen, act like you’re bothering them when you interrupt. Poor communication

The whole facility is old and run down. The elevators are terrible and small and you're expected to transport patients (often vented) on the tiny elevator that can barely fit a patient bed. They are severely understaffed but are not ACTIVELY trying to solve this. There no pay increases or incentives and their ICU nurse-to-patient ratios are extremely unsafe. The neglect that the patients have to go through is terrible. Management cares more about charting than actual patient care. This facility needs a major overhaul.
