Pros

Each place is different, according to the contractors that come in to help, but from my experience working in this company, the 2 pros are flexible hours and fairly decent pay. You can come in and work from 5-1, 10-6, or whenever. They don't make you click out for lunch either, which is nice. As long as you can maintain a caseload ( ours has been a little low lately) you can make fairly decent money.

Cons

No one seems to care one bit about anything except the bottom line. They won't purchase materials, give you enough time to manage paperwork, and they don' seem to train their PD's on anything but how to produce and make their bonuses. They give you a little money annually for training but you have to use PTO time to do it. Speaking of PTO, that is one of the worst things about this company. You earn it but you can't use it unless someone covers for you. That means you won't have any holiday off. You can't even plan and look forward to a trip away from work because some unknown person in a corporate office has to find coverage for you, and you won't know until a couple of weeks ahead of time. The job itself is stressful because they expect 85-90% productivity so you need that time away.

Pros

Decent pay, but no raises for 3 years; worked with some great therapists along the way

Cons

Never hear good things only bad. It's a "what have you done for me lately" kind of company Policies encourage therapists to be unethical or else be reprimanded by management for not obtaining unreasonable productivity levels. Terrible medical benefits Not allowed to use professional judgment; instead, professional decisions should be made based on the companys financial goals. Documentation is repetitive and mind numbing and still mostly on paper, not computer. ITouch is a terrible waste of time

Pros

Good salary and benefits. Good support with online education, helpful online information and forms.

Cons

Way too much emphasis on productivity. Write all your notes, weekly summaries, discharges and evaluations while with the patient so you can charge them for the time. If you hit a productivity standard (85%) you are challenged to go higher. Productivity = billable time so screenings, meetings, talking with the doctor, and documentation not done in front of the patient is "non-productive." No opportunity for inservices, or other growth during work time because this is "non-productive."
