Crank 'em In, Crank 'em Out

Pros

Good experience for someone looking for their first real office job. Relias seems like the kind of company that people fresh out of college would be drawn to. They offer perks such as an on site gym, specialty coffee, and even table tennis. As you get a little older or further in your career, however, those things have much less cachet and you'd certainly rather have the extra money in your pocket or better insurance. It has almost a disingenuous feel as if management is saying, "Look! We're like Google! Look at our funky furniture and open office floor plans!" Yes, Google has a lot of similar perks...they also pay their people a whole hell of a lot more and have extremely generous benefits to boot.

Cons

While having a lot of young talent around makes for a lively company with fantastic diversity, it also breeds cliques and in-groups. If you're in the "right" group, you can go pretty darn far in the company with little to no experience necessary. If you're more of a methodical thinker in your work ethic, I promise you, you will not be noticed at this company. If you aren't the loudest person in the room, you will not be heard. This is the sort of thing that burns out great talent very quickly. Turnover at Relias is the worst I've ever seen at any of the places I've ever worked. People stay for about a year and move on.

Pros

-People are friendly -Great location -401k match 6% -Market to purchase snacks -The CEO is a very genuine guy who means well -Most of the sales managers are fun and really care about your success

Cons

-Terrible compensation -Hours feel long (come in at 8:15am and leave at 5:30pm or later) -International opportunities were a selling point on working here, but only a few are selected to go -They talk a lot about making changes, but don't follow through -Although I did see a couple promotions happen this year, they came with no to little pay raise. -Overall, the company seemed to be going downhill -instead of up -Marketing leads are poor -The stress of the job was not worth the compensation or benefits

Great Place to Kickoff a Career

Pros

Relias was an awesome place to get a career kicked off. The overall feel and culture of the office is pretty great. I was fortunate enough to meet a lot of people I still call friends during my time there. Has the young, start-up feel with a number of good managers in place. CEO is about as good of a guy as you can ask to lead the company...nice, very involved, always an enjoyable conversation. Many of the direct managers were the exact same way...awesome, and very under-appreciated, sales managers. The product and market Relias caters to is also great. The mission statement of helping those who are most vulnerable usually makes you feel good about going to work every day.

Cons

Have to start with the pay...obviously way below the Raleigh market and covered with quite a bit of shade. Employees tend to speak, and it became pretty clear that a few blatant lies were thrown around by management during my time there in terms of pay and other things. For a company that harps quite a bit on values and integrity there are quite a few things internally that show otherwise.
