Misaligned Leadership

Pros

Some genuinely talented and passionate colleagues. Flexible PTO A mission that could make a meaningful impact in healthcare if properly aligned. Occasional opportunities to contribute to interesting projects.

Cons

"Good ole boy" leadership culture – promotions and opportunities often go to favorites. Decisions on advancement frequently appear based on DEI optics or manager preference, not merit or qualifications. Constant restructuring and shifting priorities without clear communication or rationale. Poor top-down communication – often reactive, unclear, or non-existent. Morale is impacted by lack of transparency and trust in leadership.

Pros

Relias has a product monopoly in multiple market segments. Products are sticky, and customer base is very loyal. Growth over last two years has been amazing and they have access to capital for continued aggressive expansion. Visionary leader (from Amazon) hired 2024 leads the Engineering organization, which is currently the best group at Relias. Product organization is immature, and is often the cause for chaos with constantly changing priorities without justification. Most(!) individuals in executive leadership roles are qualified and know what they are doing.

Cons

Compensation is sub par, HR refuses to accept that, and kepps rolling arcane and outdated policies. Even per RTP standards their pay is quite bad. Many folks haven't had a decent raise in years. Benefits are blah. High deductible health plan is not everyones favorite. Lack of competitive pay has been, and will continue to be the singular reason for losing top talent. People walking out almost always are finding better paying jobs, both locally and as remote workers.
