Pros

Multiple ERGs run by individual contributors that support individual contributors in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Cons

Relias’ own mission statement is “Relias is dedicated to measurably improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of society and those who care for them.” For that to be true, it has to also extend to your employees as well. Based on recent communication from the C-Suite, it’s clear that members of the vulnerable populations that work at Relias were not considered in the Hybrid Work policy changes. When concerns were raised by these employees, members of management were dismissive and condescending, calling people “cynical”. It sent a very clear message that senior leadership does not care about Individual Contributors and how they may be affected by changes that introduce increased costs and being put at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. It was also indicated that consideration for promotions and raises would now be influenced by an individual contributor’s presence on-site. This is a concerning stance for leadership to take as it discriminates against employees who have various barriers to being in the office and/or have requested reasonable accommodations to continue working from home.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes! We have some great ERGs – they support DEI as well as general professional development at Relias. I wanted to clarify a few misstatements in this review – the executive team absolutely considered the needs of all our employees when adjusting our flexible model recently to return more fully to the office. The executive team has been supportive through every step of our going home during the pandemic and returning to office, thoughtfully providing options for people who had health concerns through every Phase. We have created different types of space for work needs and are now allowing staff to choose which days they want to come into the office and for how long. We also considered ADA requests that are in place when updating the flexible work policy. No one in the business has insinuated these changes are insignificant – either monetarily or from a planning perspective – and we’ve given everyone until September to get ready for the transition. We are excited to work more closely with each other again in person as we continue to release amazing products and services to our customers and look forward to strengthening our Relias community onsite.

Pros

Good place to get experience

Cons

The lack of diversity in leadership, the low salaries for employees who have demonstrated hard work and loyalty to the organization are some of the terrible things about Relias. Any employee that has been with the organization and made significant contributions to the company, and received multiple promotions should not be making a crap salary. That should be an embarrassment our leaders who then make jokes at company-wide meetings about how much they are earning as executives... while driving Ferarri's and Teslas.

This reviewer has described a culture that is not how the majority of Relians see and live it every day. Relias is a fast-paced, challenging and fun environment. We pay and insure our employees. We contribute to 401(k)s. We also pay our employees commensurate with their level of experience, area of expertise, and performance at Relias. We are working hard as a leadership team to build a culture that aligns with our mission, supports women and diversity, recognizes strong performance, and ensures our employees have a healthy work-life balance in addition to a competitive total compensation package. This reviewer also mentioned Relias’ lack of diversity at the leadership levels. We value diversity and are actively trying to increase it within all levels of the organization. We are consistently showing 50% women at each level in the organization, with the exception of the executive team (i.e., 2 of 9 are women). We are very excited about our move to a more central location in the Triangle, which will enable us to pull from more diverse areas in our recruiting efforts. There are many exciting things to come in the future for Relias!

Unhealthy Workplace - Terrible Leadership

Pros

The people and the mission were top-tier

Cons

Since the arrival of new VP leadership at Nurse and Communities, the workplace environment deteriorated significantly. Sales leadership employed scare tactics, threatened job security, and created a divisive atmosphere where employees were pitted against each other, fighting over territories and leads. Promised on-track earnings were much lower than expected, with most representatives making less than a tank of gas in commissions, even though sales targets were too high, and the products failed to perform. The policy of unlimited PTO was essentially eliminated, and any attempt to take time off was met with scrutiny and an expectation to work during days off. This obliterated any semblance of work-life balance, leaving employees overworked and stressed. New leadership systematically fired dedicated sales employees to make room for their own hires. Candidates should approach career opportunities with Relias with caution, especially given the unhealthy workplace environment.
