Pros

I Love my Heath benefits with BCBS. Love my flight benefits with American, Delta, United, and Southwest. Great discounts on other airlines. Great crews in all bases-we are like family! You have many opportunities for growth within the company like being a Skypro mentor or ISS(inflight support specialist-training new hires onboard-1year requirement for these opportunities). Other opportunities Can be attained after a year of hire...Management is great in all bases! Absolutely love my job!

Cons

Pay scale is not like mainline-it probably will never be-but contract negotiations are next year. We are an amazing regional company and comparable to Skywest. Mostly Midwest and east coast flying.,,,If you get hired, expect to be on reserve for awhile until the new planes come in. So make sure you have financial backing or a second job. Lots of people drive for Uber when they're on call because it's flexible. Have a game plan because you get based where the company needs you, it could be awhile until you are based near where you live! You need to be flexible for this to work out for you!

Pros

Good Benefits and the corporate culture is going in the right direction, It just needs to trickle down to training.

Cons

The training department was the most mismanaged, disorganized and demeaning department I have ever worked in. One of the managers is in over her head and takes out her lack of knowledge and maturity on her co-workers. She has unfortunately created very low overall morale in the department. It is one of the most negative environments in the company. Shuttle management is very disrespectful to the new trainees coming into inflight. It is so unfortunate that this is the first impression of the company and that some great new flight attendants leave training with a poor vision of what the company is and can offer.

Pros

Flight/Travel privileges are awesome! But don't let them use that as a bargaining chip for your salary...

Cons

I was laid off due to COVID-19, and the entire process was a TERRIBLE experience! I am genuinely shocked at how poorly this was conducted. The company chose to eliminate a number of employees (over 100) prior to taking the CARES Act money - this act provided financial relief for companies to cover payroll and prevented employers from laying off employees until Sept. 30th. So basically, Republic cheated that system. AND they did not pick from the most recent hires even within departments where people were terminated. They terminated people with years of experience and of loyalty - I can only assume that was because those people made more money? They kept people who had been with the company for less than 3-6 months. On top of the sting of being terminated, they made us return our monitors in person (if we took them home) but wouldn't let us clean out our own desks. My belongings (and the belongings of other colleagues who were terminated) were returned in pieces - glass broken everywhere. After receiving an above average performance evaluation a month prior to being terminated, this was a really awful experience that ruined the memories and nostalgia I associated with my experience at Republic Airways.

Republic Airways Response

Thank you for your review and feedback. COVID-19's impact on the airline industry and our company has resulted in unfortunate but necessary workforce reductions, and no decision that impacts our people is made lightly. Early on our company established core principles for our response to COVID-19 and they have guided our leadership and our associates through every decision--foremost to protect our people and passengers, also to enact reasonable responses to short-term challenges and finally to preserve the long-term sustainability of our airline. This includes the tough decisions to reduce our workforce, losing valuable talent and most importantly affecting associates who have become part of the Republic family.
