Pros

Research provides experience with acutely ill and Trauma I patients.

Cons

Inadequate environmental services support, antiquated charting software, supply/equipment shortages, Mean-Girl Culture, insufficient Security measures for staff, and recent management turnover.

Pros

Coworkers are nice and easy to get along with.

Cons

Low pay, poor staffing, and overworked. RMC can't keep techs so while you might be assigned a unit, you'll probably be floating more often than not. Some floors will try to give you 16-20 patients to take vitals on, bathe, help to the bathroom, etc. If you don't grow a backbone, they'll burn you out quick. Nurses on med/surg are regularly 6:1, PCU 4:1, and ICU 3:1.

Pros

Plenty of opportunity for advancement

Cons

Be prepared to staff in 90% of the time. Not a lot of upper management support. High turnover!
