Pros

- Great Product - Remote work from home policy - Cool offices with good facilities

Cons

- Micromanagement: Everything is driven by Nik (at an all hands he said the way to grow successful companies is Micromanage everyone) - You make a mistake you get fired, there are a lot of people that just disappear with no communication or update from senior management, just rumours that they were fired. - If Nik likes you, you are safe if not avoid any meetings with him otherwise he will just bully you in front of everyone. - Limited thought process to customers its very much focussed on making money at all costs - No care for people, the bedrock of the company, you are expected to work 15+ hours a day if you don't then you are not an A-Player. - Everything is process focussed, however its a Nik process focussed that fundamentally means not a process at all its whatever he wants. - Everyone is just Nik's yes man and too fearful to question or push back - Culture is non-existent in this place, its one built on bullying and fear of losing your job to get results nothing else. - FAs (Founder Associates) - are Nik's minions and run the company, no one in the organisation understands their role or value (all 21 with no work experience yet will often build processes and procedures that the hired experts disagree with yet no one ever listens to the experts. - Meetings with Nik and FA's are often all pre-planned, he will ask them their thoughts, which surprise surprise aligns with his, after which you discuss with the FA and they then agree with you but won't question Nik. - Too much focussed on KPIs that add little value to overall goals or even your role, as long as they trend upwards Nik is happy. - No clear strategy for the business apart from being super app (whatever that means!?)

Thank you for your review, we really appreciate you taking the time. You won’t be surprised to hear that we disagree with some of your views. We are proud of our talented and often inspiring leadership. We also work hard to create products that our customers will use and love and we hugely value the contribution every Revoluter makes to delivering them. We believe that a culture of mutual respect and civility is important and try to instil these values throughout the organisation. That said, we are ambitious and we want to be able to be honest and direct in our feedback to each other to achieve the best results we can for our customers. We encourage leaders and managers to ensure that their feedback is constructive and not personal and we’ll continue to make this a priority. We’re want to make sure that Revolut is a place where A-players want to stay for a long time and we know that perhaps our enthusiasm to build a financial superApp can run away with us. We want to create a culture where all our people feel great coming to work and being part of Revolut. We’ll be sure to pass on your feedback and we hope, in the months to come, that we can change your impression as it’s great to see you’re enjoying some really important aspects of your role at Revolut. Lastly, as you’re a current employee, we’d strongly urge you to please fill in the weekly pulse surveys that are sent to you, so we can look at what changes need to be made at an organisational, departmental, and team level.

Pros

People are passionate, intelligent, hard working, creative

Cons

Executive Leadership does not value those people, initiatives are put in place to improve employee engagement that are buried by the behaviour of a select few 'original' execs. Nik controls EVERYTHING - especially items he has no knowledge or expertise in. He consistently undermines senior people's experience, insisting things are done in his way. He sulks when things are not done how he wants them. Excluding people when it suits him, it's like a school bully at times. The company is built around yes men that all think and act in the same way...and are all men. For a company that prides itself on innovation this is extremely ironic. Alan is the same, ignores decisions made and tries to control everything for it to be done how he wants (without fully appreciating the impact and consistently undermining hard work done) Women are ignored, with men who fit Nik's view on what an A-Player is (Male, STEM degree, consulting background) are given preferential treatment, whereas the females have to consistently fight for everything they have - despite extensive experience and proven track record. People seem to genuinely be working really hard to improve engagement, but this will not happen while Nik and his right hand men continue to behave how they do.

We’re sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your Revolut experience. We agree and we’re proud that our people are passionate, intelligent, hard working and creative (and they make amazing products). Like you, we love our honest, direct, delivery focused culture and we work hard, as part of that, to support and recognise all our employees. We appreciate that Revolut might not be the best fit for everyone but we hope that it works out better for you in future.

Pros

You will learn things you never dreamed of at rocket speed. You will develop an elite skill-set. It is ambitious, you will get things done. If you also have a great mind you will love it. They truly have the best talent pool , even if they are not harnessing it correctly.

Cons

I cannot emphasize enough how accurate and understated the negative reviews on this platform are. The reality of working at Revolut is far worse than anything that can be conveyed in writing. I saw the reviews when I initially joined but thought it could not be that bad and joined anyway. Boy was that a terrible err of judgement. As a former employee, I witnessed firsthand the appalling treatment of middle management , junior staff and even members of senior leadership. The company’s complete disregard for its employees is shocking, and many of their practices are likely illegal. Communication is abysmal, morale is at rock bottom, and burnout is rampant. Promises of equity and share options were used as bait to lure talented individuals away from stable jobs. The reality is far from the glossy image portrayed externally or in the multiple news reports that covered the financial headlines recently. A lot of employees that helped Revolut achieve that milestone are not even able to access those shares. Employees are overworked, underpaid, and treated as disposable assets. The leadership team is completely detached from the reality of the business, making impulsive decisions that have devastating consequences for the workforce. There is a clear lack of empathy and accountability at all levels. The leadership team is fragmented and incoherent, with different departments constantly at odds. This lack of unity creates a chaotic and stressful work environment. The company’s performance review process is a farce. KPIs are irrelevant to the daily chaos employees endure. A small group of favorites consistently game the system, while the rest of the staff is left to pick up the pieces. Employees are discouraged from providing feedback, fearing retaliation. There is a culture of fear and mistrust, where those who speak up are often targeted and forced out. Quite a few arrogant bullies throwing their weight about spoiling things for those accustomed to a more traditional employment culture. The company’s claims of a flexible work environment are misleading. While some employees may work remotely, many are expected to be chained to their desks for excessive hours. There is a clear lack of investment in employee well-being and development. Pace of roll-out and expansion is priority, any other thing is not given a second thought. Lot’s of lip service and glossing around over things. I implore anyone considering a role at Revolut to read these reviews carefully. The experiences shared here are not isolated incidents, but rather a systemic problem. Your mental health is not worth the stress and turmoil this company will undoubtedly inflict upon you. I urge the company to address the serious issues raised by its employees. Ignoring these problems will only lead to further damage to the company’s reputation and continued loss of talent. If you are a current Revolut employee or former employee, please take a second like this review if you found it helpful or true. It’s important that potential employees have access to honest feedback. Leaving this company was one of the best decisions I've made. It was a hard decision as it’s created a sudden hard to explain direction in my CV as expected. However, my life has improved dramatically since then. I would never return, even for a significant salary increase or access to shares. I genuinely hope this review invokes positive change for the employees trapped there unable to get out. Now we know why they are called shipmates, they are lost at sea with no way home. At the mercy of the storm that is the dark brutal workplace that is Revolut. Always defensive, justifying their culture and never actually listening to what is being said. Ironically the response to this message will be exactly that.
