Pros

Are you kidding me? I'm leaving as soon as I can and wish I had never applied to this soulless, unethical, and callous company.

Cons

A former Dayton associate placed cameras in the women's locker room and restroom facilities but was discovered in June 2015. Management discretely laid this employee off without contacting the victims or the police from what I can tell. Want proof? Well, check out Reynold's very own statement in a NOVEMBER 2015 news article "You may have seen a media story about an incident at headquarters involving a hidden video camera placed by an associate. We're aware of the situation and we've been cooperating with the police department since turning it over to them to investigate. The individual involved was terminated immediately in June when the incident was discovered. Our first concern in this situation is for the associates who may have had their privacy violated by the cameras. We have worked with the authorities and have contacted all the individuals who were directly impacted in this incident." If their first concern was truly their associates then why did I as an associate/gym/restroom user only find out about this in December instead of June? A friend of mine who used the gym religiously but left in the fall of 2015 says she never heard anything about this from Reynolds. As far as I am concerned they found out about this guy in June but tried to sweep the whole thing under the rug so the police investigation started 5 months after the fact...creep's still free too, originally fled the state but pleaded 'not guilty' back in December 2015 after KPD issued an arrest warrant so I guess we'll see what happens.

Pros

Most of the employees in outside sales are very smart, hardworking people. A lot of that will depend on where you're located though. My team had great chemistry and I genuinely enjoyed working with most of them. Starting base salary isn't bad for entry-level. Overall benefits aren't bad. You have the best products in the industry to sell. The training program is certainly top notch, and will no doubt help you get a better job when you inevitably can't take it anymore.

Cons

When you're hired, they over-promise on your potential earnings, especially the first few years. They greatly restrict your earning potential the first few years just because you're new, but won't hesitate to make you take a hit for a loss that really wasn't yours. Potential sales also has a lot to do with what territory you're placed in; which can be a total hit or miss. There is no work-life balance, and you can expect to consistently work nights and weekends. Don't expect to actually enjoy your vacations either. There is no consistency with disciplinary action within the company. Everyone is confused constantly about how certain people get away with so much, while others are fired over nothing. Your "company car" is cheaper than a personal car, but you'll definitely still pay for it. The decision making process to get anything done is inconsistent and totalitarian. Decisions take weeks or months sometimes, and all the while your customers get more angry and take it out on you. I still don't understand why there is any sort of management structure when all the managers in between essentially act as email pushers to the power in the sky. Many of the inside support teams are very unhelpful to field reps who depend on them. There always seems to be tension between departments. You'll always be nickel and diming your customer, over the most asinine items that you really can't get a mental grasp on. All the while, putting a smile on your face and pretending like it's a normal business practice of a good business partner. Extremely high turnover, especially among new hires. Training and installs frequently go bad and fast, leading to very angry customers and cancellations. As a field rep, you're the messenger for all the bad news that is forced upon customers...and the messenger gets shot frequently. In general; this is a hard industry as it is, and dealers are notoriously unpredictable. There are reps who make a lot of money, and they're definitely smart and hardworking folks. However, if starting new, there are a lot of cards that have to fall into place for you to get there (in probably no less than 3-5 years). If you can take the mental abuse and exhaustion for that long, more power to you.

Pros

- Mostly great co-workers. - Company sports leagues. - On site cafeteria/GYM. - In the right team, may be there is a chance to learn stuff while making less money. - Company/Job will be stable. - Not a bad company to work for if salary requirements are meagre and if the management chain is right but a few departments are pretty bad to work especially if you end with a over eager to please management all the time type of guy as a supervisor.

Cons

Where do I start? I debated for months to write this or not. After much deliberation I thought may be this will help someone who had options for picking his future job. Pardon the laundry list below. - Very Low pay. They will hire you way below market level which means 3 years of decent raises will still keep under the market value. Company mostly hires only young kids straight out of college. - Promotions come with minimal increases and a very nominal bonus every year and it entails a lot of work with underpaid and frustrated co-workers. - Bad/mediocre health benefits. - Web habits are monitored/restricted irrespective of productivity. Not just facebook but weather.com is also blocked. - Work hours are logged with no accountability for all the extra hours put in. - Every little thing is micro managed, including how clean your desk is at all times. - There are always Cost cutting measures or going with the cheaper option across the board irrespective of employee experience or growth for future with the tool. Ideas/opinions are given value accordingly to money they save/cost. - Management have a "buy-in" policy where they look people who are not outwardly drinking the company "cool-aid" all the time and try to nudge them out or peer shame them to fall in line. - The company keeps buying new companies every other month but still tells employees that they can only get minimal/no raises as everyone in the country is still in the middle of recession and we should be very happy that we just have a job. - If you are from the Dayton area then there is no choice but to stick with this company due to the job market in the area that the company is exploiting. But if you can move, please find work at a different company and I would say most of them will see that the grass is definitely greener than what you see at Reynolds. - FOX News on all TV's and at all times (including the fitness center). - Management tries to equate the "take less and work more" culture to what the armed forces go through everyday in their real life. Lastly, I cant believe the amount of positive reviews over the last year. This company was rated as one of the worst a few years ago and is close to respectable now. All the positive reviews are may be because most of the people might be working their first job and they have not seen anything else? I would not put it past the company to have their HR team intentionally give good reviews to shore up their rating.
