Pros

I joined RigUp as an intern and transitioned to a full time role. I love the people I work with. Everyone is passionate about the company's mission and goals. While the company has certainly grown, the open floor plan atmosphere makes it easy to ask for help and collaborate. There's a true sense of ownership here and an excitement in the air.

Cons

The "agile" philosophy means that RigUp is always iterating and optimizing to achieve the best outcomes. The constant iteration takes a lot of getting used to. I'm in a customer facing role and so at times travel can get very grueling. I guess that comes with the territory.

Fast-paced, interesting startup that rewards initiative

Pros

Very collaborative work culture that expects and rewards initiative. Lives at the intersection of two very interesting fields (oil & gas / SaaS technology), with opportunities to learn both. Fun, energetic office culture with some nice perks.

Cons

Fast pace and startup nature means lots of balls in the air...can occasionally be unclear what must be handled and what can be dropped. Probably not a good fit for someone who wants a lot of structure.

Very Smart Driven & Focused Team

Pros

Rocketship describes RigUp's cultural atmosphere. I was 1 of 15 employees just over a year ago and now there are nearly 50 employees. The company is very meritocratic with performers getting rewarded with more managerial responsibilities and additional compensation. Because it's a level playing field here, hard working and motivated leaders can advance fairly easily to senior decision making roles.

Cons

RigUp is extremely young. Nearly everyone is a millennial. At company happy hours, I feel like I'm back in at a college house party. Company social events don't really cater to those with families. RigUp's performance based culture has drawbacks rewarding smarts and performance over company tenure isn't always great for morale.
