Pros

Laid-back surf company, with a work hard, play hard vibe. Good place to acquire skills for future careers.

Cons

Rip Curl doesn't treat their employees very well, and turnover is high. Don't expect to get promoted or get a raise unless the company is desperate. High-Demanding job, very little rewards.

Pros

Rip Curl retail is well funded which is obviously a benefit, especially when going up against struggling local shops. There split between flagship and outlet stores is a good way for them to keep control of their product throughout its entire life cycle.

Cons

Rip Curl doesn't seem to care too much about the surf industry in its retail sector, or at least the people they staffed in their corporate office didn't care, and they staffed people in retail outlet that I worked that didn't care. It's all fashion, since that's where the money is at.

Pros

Meeting new customers and sharing the passion for the surf culture.

Cons

The company lost it's way when they forgot the core values with new leadership and corporate buyouts. Became a company that put profit over people and lost what appealed to surfers and non-surfers about the surf culture, it's a vibe not a dollar sign.
