Pros

Full time work from home, good people, uncapped commission.

Cons

A culture of micromanagement is starting to arise amongst management. They preach that these requirements are only to benefit us, but they serve very little purpose.

Needs Structure/Accountability

Pros

Good base pay and hours. All work (for my position) was left at work and was not taken home. Surrounded by intelligent and disciplined immediate coworkers on my team.

Cons

Lack of management accountability. Different departments push work and blame to other departments to avoid criticism and feedback. Departments are treated differently in terms of importance and rewards i.e. sales and operation departments will be let out early from work and others won't. Outside of sales, there is very little room to move upward in the company. Management positions are often given to people outside of the company instead of promoting within. This leads to a couple of months' learning curve for new managers which leads to decreased productivity and poor communication.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are disappointed to hear about some of your experiences while working at RoadRunner. We value all our employees and their contributions and work hard to maintain our unique culture which is built on our core values. Although we are one company, there are many departments that make up RoadRunner each with their own set of requirements and responsibilities. Sometimes this means that one department has more flexibility than others. We try our best to allow each department to determine what works best for them while maintaining our high-level of service and meeting our business requirements. This may appear as a disadvantage to some, but it allows flexibility while ensuring we remain focused on the business. As for promotions, we actually have a strong record of promoting from within but there are times when we need to look externally for talent, especially with the growth that we are currently experiencing. And with growth comes growing pains which it sounds like you’ve experienced. We are working to improve our processes which will help to create clear boundaries and accountabilities and we applaud those employees who are digging in to help us figure this out. This is a good problem to have as it means there is plenty of work to be done to help us achieve our mission of saving our clients’ money and recycling more. However, we understand that this type of environment isn’t always easy to work in. I encourage you to speak with your manager about your dissatisfaction and your proposals on how to make improvements. Again, thank you for the feedback and we look forward to hearing more from you on how we can continually improve.
