RR is the place to be

Pros

RR is a growing company that loves to hire from within, if you are looking for growth this is the place to be. Great benefits that cost you almost nothing! Also a 401k with a match WFH environment is fantastic. After being forced to work from home RR put a plan to action that has allowed us to continue to excel. On top of the WFH process RR also does a great job at keeping a team environment through these unprecedented times. Virtual get-togethers/parties that are well thought out and fun to be a part of. Management is always looking for and willing to add tools that will help the team. ISS Training is much improved, BDRs are hitting the floor with a ton of knowledge and confidence. The greatest asset RR has is its employees. The people you will work with are extraordinary. They are always willing to help and truly want the best for the people around them.

Cons

I do not have anything to place under Cons. I've been here for almost 3 years and have enjoyed every second of it.

Good and Bad

Pros

There are a good amount of pros to working here, the location is great, benefits are solid, most of the people in there are nice, if you surround yourself with that group. The experience is what should draw anyone in, the sales experience is the best part of working for this company, since the requirements to get hired are minimal it’s not hard to be a top producer and turn this into career stepping stone like most do.

Cons

The cons are due to growing pains, trying to pump all the markets with bdrs, thinking that more calls will get more meetings which will get more invoices is completely wrong. They micromanage constantly which isn’t the sales coaches fault but their managers. There is no freedom in this office, the commission structure is supposedly being altered as well which will help some, but anyone has yet to see any progress on that. There are bdrs in there dropping like flies and the talent they bring on to fill those positions they shouldn’t be hired in the first place, most of the people in there aren’t business professionals either, just hired to fill a seat for a few months before they’re fired and then the seat is filled again for another few months.

Overall great company to work for

Pros

RoadRunner is a growing company, although the growth in some areas has started to level out, with opportunities for advancement. With that you have the option to be exposed to multiple departments over the course of your employment if you’re able to secure a promotion or transfer within departments. If you’re applying to the BDR role it’s an inside sales job, that means you’re cold calling. The management team in inside sales is young and is learning their management styles, I’d suspect most are first time managers, and with that there have been growing pains in teams as they learn their styles. In other departments the turnover is normal for any company. Most have been there for 1.5 years plus, and for a company that is now almost 5 years old but has only truly seen large growth in the last 2.5 that’s a great length I would say. For sales there’s a higher turnover, but personally I would expect to see that. If you’re looking for a place to land it’s a good option as they continue to build out their benefits package. With that said the PTO is 15 days plus two floating holidays for sick time and vacation time, use it wisely and you’ll be just fine, although having a little more would be nice as well (but isn’t it always nice to have more time off?). The health insurance is fairly good and is super reasonable. If you’re single it’ll cost less than $5 a month for health, dental and vision. Overall the company was a great place to work, I did see myself there for a long period and had every intention to stay but my personal life changed my plan along the way and I left because I relocated.

Cons

Overall the cons are fairly basic: Location falls into both because it’s downtown Pittsburgh so parking is outrageous but the bus is a great option. There can be little groups of close knit folks that can make some feel outside the group but that happens everywhere. I would also suggest to try to make things more “professional”. Enforce the dress code across the board and work on enforcing policies equally all of the time, while it was getting way better there was still room for improvement.
